Dogstar was once a good shop to go to. But recently, they've had multiple cases of staff infections from not sterilizing their equipment. They have extremely talented artists, but that nowhere compares to the health risk you take by having work there done. Stay away from this place.

Pros: not a sterile workplace, no pros for Dogstar.

Cons: not a sterile workplace.

Had no experience with any of the other artists so can't comment. I scheduled an appointment and when I showed up was taken care of from the start. William was very conversant, thoughtful, & explained everything for this first timer. The work was perfectly done - neat clean lines & fill. I will be back for more work from William. Thanks!

Pros: atmosphere, art work - great experience for this first timer...

Cons: none realy

The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment I entered the shop. No attitude from any of the 3 workers on hand and they made me feel at home immediately. William did my piece in the front window station and was lively, down to earth, kind, and enthusiastic throughout the 2+ hour session. I had brought my design to another shop first who refused to even work with me on it due to degree of difficulty and level of detail. William however was up to the challenge and eagerly adapted it to something that would look good for years to come. The end result was even better than what I had originally envisioned due to William's artistic touches. Lastly, the price was spot on and the music played during my session was great. This is a studio and artist I will gladly return to for my future work.

Pros: William is a great person and talented artist. Good customer service and good price.

Cons: None

i'm sorry to say i agree with the last review. though i had heard good things and been encouraged to go local with this shop, the artist who worked on me was pretty rough, not friendly at all and it all seemed very rushed. (note to dogstar mgmt : if you don't have time for walk-ins - don't take them!!) i would have been happy to make an appointment if it meant getting better service. not sure this guy would have done any differently though. zero communication-not even eye contact! seemed more concerned with talking to his friends while working me over (oops - i mean working on me). on the up side, the tat looks fine - just pray i don't scar!

I'd heard great things about Dogstar, but I was very very disappointed by the treatment I got--both the person who greeted me and the person who did my tattoo were very short with me and made me feel incredibly unwelcome. They acted like I was bothering them by giving them my business, and my tattoo artist didn't bother to talk to me at all except to say "ready?". Maybe it was unreasonable to expect a conversation, but it is not unreasonable to expect to feel comfortable with someone who is altering your body in a permanent (and painful) way. Customer service aside, the tattoo looks great and the shop was clean and attractive. Still, I would NOT recommend going here.

Pros: Good artwork, clean

Cons: very unfriendly, almost elitist attitude

William took my "pretty drawing" and turned it into a kickass tattoo. Clean, comfortable, reasonable, and addictive.

Pros: they are totally willing to listen to what it is that YOU want

I had a wonderful tattoo experience at Dogstar, largely due to tattoo artist William. He's fabulous! He was very patient with me and helpful with all of my questions. (Since this was my first tattoo experience, I had many questions.) He also worked with me on a design that I brought in, but he made it work through his artistry. William is a true artist! Definitely go to him for your next tattoo. And first timers -- he's great! Adrienne at the front desk was also super.

Pros: William is a fabulous artist

Cons: Can't think of any

I have gotten two tattoos at Dogstar. The first was my very first tattoo, a butterfly. I'd brought a picture of it and Aaron did such a great job. He was so nice and really made me feel comfortable. That was over a year ago. I went again yesterday and brought a photograph of my black and white cat Loki. He drew a sketch and started. Being that it on my lower back and it took two hours, it was painful, but William was so great, he kept asking me how I was doing. He has a great personality and definitely made it a fun experience despite the pain! His girlfriend was also there, and she helped keep me distracted. The guy at the front desk, Zach, was really nice. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It is a clean shop, the artists are awesome, and they are a fun group of people. Thanks, William!!

Pros: Great tattoo at a very reasonable price

Cons: None

I went in there just to look around because I was in the area. While in there I thought about getting a tattoo of my dog. I asked about bringing in a picture for the sketch and they were overly helpful. Especially since it was my first tattoo I was a little apprehensive but they calmed all my fears. The sketch turned out amazing. It was much better than I ever imagined it could be. Nathan is just so talented. The tattoo took no time and he was overly professional and I enjoyed the entire experience. The aftercare instructions and pamphlet were very helpful, especially for a first timer. I will definately go back there for any more tattoos and I suggest anyone go and see Nathan if you want an awesome looking tattoo.

Pros: Price, cleanliness, professionalism, Nathan

Cons: That all places aren't like this.

I went in the other day to have my dragon tattoo re-colored. They had several clients lined up, but were able to give me an approximate time to come back. Aaron re-did my tatt, filling it in where it was blotchy-looking and changing colors for me. It really pops now! Aftercare was explained, and a pamphlet given in case I forgot anything. Plus he offers a 6 month guarantee- if it needs any touch-ups within 6 months, he'll do it for free. Can't beat that.
