Small, dark, cozy little soup-n-sandwich pub. I live 2 minutes away. Duffy's is my living room. And everyone's right, BEST she-crab this side of Jupiter. Good burgers too. I know Dan, the waiter... he's great! I knew waitress Gina for years and she's such a sweetheart, but unfortunately, she's gone. The other waitresses are so nice (except the tiny thin one... she's RUDE!) (we told her our cokes were flat and she said "No they're not!" When I told her to see for herself, she rudely snapped "I'm not drinking your drink!"). I don't go to the bar area because I don't have a gas mask in my car, and I don't want to contract lung cancer tomorrow. I bring all my friends to Duffy's but I have to warn them of the smoke that can waft into the dining area. Besides the smoke (they really need to update their "smoke go away" machine), my only complaint is that they give you 3 drops of salad dressing, then CHARGE YOU for more dressing!! I HATE that. But I'm a Duffy's regular because I need my she-crab soup fix.

Pros: Cozy, Relaxed, SHE-CRAB SOUP ROCKS!

Cons: Smokey (cough cough), They charge for more salad dressing

Food was great! But it's the only positive.The service was pretty bad, and the other patrons were some of the worst I've had the displeasure of being around. I made the mistake of going in the late evening and the 'Biker-bar analogy' was apt. The worst pool tables I've experienced! The decor also needs some improvement. It's not 1984!

In addition to the previous review the food is good. However, as a retired person who sits at the bar (not all day though) - this place has really gone down hill in the past few years. The place turns into what I can only liken to a biker bar without the bikes at night. And I agree that the wait staff is quite poor- they spend more time socializing and drinking than waiting on the customers in the bar area.

Pros: can't think of any

I trusted the other reviews on this site. What a mistake. This place is fine if you are an old, retire man who sits at the bar all day and smokes. Its not the least bit inviting for families. The food is fine, but the waitstaff is not very friendly and the place is in serious need of remodeling. When we left,our clothes wreaked. The kids menu is pricey for what you get.

Duffy's is the best place to eat! Never too crowded and always somthing to do! Thursday night trivia is so much fun! Waitresses are great! Bacon cheese fries are amazing!!!!!

Pros: Amicable staff, quick service, great food

Read an article in the N&O about Duffy's She Crab soup. Decided to go there and try it. Not only was the She Crab soup the best I have ever eaten including Charleston or Maryland. My son also had one of their burgers and he LOVED it!! The waitstaff was very friendly and I enjoyed my visit. I'm actually going tonight for the third trip this week!!!

I was looking for a new place now that so many restaurants in N. Raleigh closed. Duffy's looked dark on the outside, but the staff changed my mind. It was cheerful and fun! I was there last Sunday night and the bartender was singing behind the bar, there was a bunch of people playing pool. Everyone there talked to us and made us feel welcome. It was a great surprise find!

Pros: friendly staff, cold beers, golden tee golf

THis place is starting to get a younger crowd. They are having Karaoke now and music. The food is awesome too! The Duffy Burger is the best in town!

The restaurant is now totally non-smoking. You can still smoke in the bar and pool room if you want. A great place for families or friends to meet.
