Pros: very nice decor, nice food Con: How can a restaurant renowned and which supposedly takes pride for its special tiramisu desert, run out of this early on a Saturday evening? Well, that is exactly what happened to us. The waiter told us that they can't make an unlimited supply and to call ahead and reserve slices in the future! Have they ever heard about refrigeration? Tiramisu is not considered to be an expensive desert to make. When was the last time you went to a nice steak house where they ran out of steak or even a Pizza Hut to be told they didn't have any more pizza? Cafe Tiramisu should have made more as soon as they realized they were running low or if that was not possible, beg, borrow or steal from the nearest Italian restaurant or supermarket. Absolutely bizarre and unacceptable. When we told them we came just for that and were not very local, they could have even offered to provide on our next visit but they were pretty clueless.
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Running out of their flagship product - tiramisu

We went to Cafe Tiramisu on Friday night. We hadn't been there in over a year. The last time we had gone, we weren't too excited with the food so decided to give it a break after several years of going there. Well since our last visit, they had remodeled the interior and it's very classy looking. Our waiter, Dan was great. Very friendly and right on tiop of everything. He had some good recommendations. The lobster bisque was the bomb. I would have licked the bowl if I were at home it was that good. I had the sea bass special which was recommended and enjoyed every last bite of it. My husband had the veal satlimbocca and there wasn't a drop left on his plate. The freshly baked bread was so good we asked for another loaf. We will definitely be going back more frequently again.
Pros: great food, service and nice atmosphere.
Cons: They still allow smoking in the bar section. The restaurant is one big roon so you can still smell it no matter where you sit.

My friend and I found this restaurant to be lacking in service, atmosphere and food quality. Although my lobster bisque was creamy and the right temperature, there was not a hint of lobster flavor or aroma to be found. Our server was lukewarm and inattentive, disappearing for lengthy periods of time with no explanation. When our entrees finally arrived, the presentation was pleasing enough, the vegetables were overcooked and mushy. Perhaps most disappointing was the cloud of noxious cigarette smoke wafting down over our table, especially during the last half of the meal. My jacket and clothes are still hanging in the garage until I can get them laundered. The highlight of my meal was the amaretto mousse dessert - it was light and flavorful and pretty on the plate. Unless they enact a no-smoking policy I will not be coming back. It puzzles me how a restaurant rates a 98 sanitation grade while known carcinogens are floating liberally throughout the restaurant, but that factor apparently doesn't figure into the inspection. Having been to Italy, I will say that many Europeans are avid and unapologetic smokers, so perhaps that fact contributes to the restaurant's "authentic Italian" reputation?
Pros: Dessert
Cons: Smoky, poor service, overcooked veggies

I needed a quick meal for my family but I wanted something special. Cafe Tiamisu was great. The Chicken parmesan was delicious and enough for my young children to share. The seafood special was great. My husband thought it was a very special meal. The food was packed very well and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant is warm and the outdoor tables are great. I can't wait to eat in with my husband one night. Thanks for the great service

We went here about a week ago. We go out to eat often trying to only eat at places that come with high recommendations about the food and the chef. We heard great things about this restaurant, and all I have to say is WOW!!!!! It is amazing. The food is wonderful. But even more wonderful is the atmosphere and the service. We really enjoyed this experience and will make it one of our regular places to eat.
Pros: Service and wonderful menu
Cons: none

The best Italian food ever. We just moved to the RDU area, and were recommended Tiramisu. Wow! Excellent food service and wine list. The food was spectacular. I found the prices extremely reasonable for the quality of food.
Pros: everything
Cons: n/a

Food -- Osso Buco, Gamberi (a pasta and seafood dish), Tiramisu -- was good. Of two "signature dishes" touted on the website, only one was available. Of the Mozzarella Souflée, which I tried to order, the waitress said, "They didn't make any." Seems pretty slack to me to neglect to make one of only two "signature dishes," one which uses standard ingredients. I politely inquired about which dishes used fresh pasta. The waitress seemed completely flummoxed by the concept of "fresh pasta." She stumbled and stuttered and rambled -- I let it go. Everything about the service was shabby, including the loosely assembled combination salt shaker / pepper mill from which I managed to dump a handful of whole peppercorns into my Osso Buco while attempting to salt it. I sorted it out and did not complain. My friend and I -- two guys, not an intimate couple in any sense -- decided to share a dessert of Tiramisu. She plopped it down in the center of the table, gave us two forks, and instantly disappeared in that pixyish way she had. We persuaded another server to bring us a couple of dessert plates. I think the after-dinner coffee was real bad, but it was difficult to judge it properly because it was only lukewarm. It was also served in a cheap, heavy, roadside diner style cup, the kind I only enjoy in roadside diners or restaurants with log cabin motifs. I sent it away when I was next able to attract our server's notice. I have no plans to dine again at Tiramisu.
Pros: Good food
Cons: Inept service

The food here is to die for. We have not yet had a dish, appetizer, or dessert that wasn't the top of the line. We're so glad we have discovered this place. Don't let the location fool you. There are regulars that have discovered this place and it seems they are keeping this well kept secret to themselves! ALL of their dishes have beautiful presentation. Try their coffee martini! Exceptional chicken entrees.....pear salad is unbelievable.....awesome staff. You will not regret trying this restaurant.
Pros: FOOD

I spent much time in and around NYC and was very disappointed with the Italian food in the Triangle until I discovered Tiramisu. Their smaller (selective) menu offers plenty of variety while ensuring that the food is always fresh and creatively prepared. The ambiance combines an upscale feel with the comfort of home. The service is always professional and the Tiramisu is absolutely the best anywhere. Thank you to the DeMartino family for providing such a wonderful dining experience.
