Expensive - Did not get what I paid for. Not as personal as they claim to be.

I had several college friends use their services with success so I decided to call and set a time to sit down with John and discuss what I needed. We started discussing that I needed to update my resume to reflect my current job and focus on a few aspects of my experience that would be needed for the position in which I was applying. I noticed that John was taking notes. It did not take long to discuss the details of the services I needed. Come to find out what he was writing down were the details of how much he was going to charge me which was $400 and pay up front. I thought that was a bit high but my friends said he will do a good job and I had limited time. I told John I had a short amount of time to get my resume updated and he said he could get it done, no problem. Three days before I needed the resume update finished I received an email from Careerpro and after I read the new additions to my resume I could not believe the errors and spelling mistakes and on top of that they did not focus on the job aspects I requested. I called and advised John of the issue and he got defensive and was not at all apologetic. I went to his office the day before I needed this finished and it was not even close to being what I had requested much less paid for. I found out that John was not updating the resume at all, it was his associate who had never spoken or met with me to know what I really needed on the resume. I stayed there for over an hour helping add information to the resume to get it finished. I had to get it done because of time constraints so I had no choice. I took my resume to a college friend that afternoon who majored in English and he made further changes for no money at all. My friends who used their services in the past were shocked at the price I was charged for the work that was actually done and my whole experience. Yes I am a real customer. Funny how 3 positive reviews come so quick after a negative review. Self promoting I guess.

Pros: John will meet with you for free after that open your wallet.

Cons: Not personal, overpriced for the service I did not receive..

Our customer service policy means that we respond to any client who has a concern. We happily accept and attempt to resolve any concern - legitimate or not. This client admits that they had several college friends who used our services and recommended us. We do not recognize this person and this person never complained to us. But they can run us up on City Search with 0 accoutability. That's wrong. Besides, I don't even know if this is a real client. If they are they demanded a draft of new materials, received it three days before they needed it, asked for and received in house editing and advice. The insinuation that during a note-taking session I also wrote down prices seems so sinister here. Really? FYI - this person has two reviews on City Search. They also rip a restaurant two weeks ago. We have been in business 15 years and honor all contracts and commitments and would go the extra mile for any legitimate and sometimes not legitimate complaint.
