I went to Goodnight's about a month ago to see Chris Titus. I had so much fun. It is nice to have the option to do something different and this was it. The food was great and the show was hilarious. Just like any busy bar you might wait a little while for a drink, but that goes with the territory. I could probably get drinks a little faster if there were not so many people there, but then the atmosphere wouldn't be so energetic and fun. The seating is a little tight, but again that adds to the feel. I have been to comedy clubs in New York City and the seating is much tighter there. All around the set-up may be a little frustrating but it is part of going to a Comedy Club if I wanted space and super fast drinks I would go to a dead bar or stay home. If you want to do something new and have a blast I suggest going to Goodnight's, but be willing to go with the flow and have a great time laughing like crazy.
Pros: Atmoshpere, Affordable, Something Fun and Different
Cons: Parking and A Little Crowded

Charlie Goodnights is no longer the comedy club it once was. Wednesday open mic night is still cool (free admission if you eat in the upstairs restaurant), but otherwise it's rarely worth the $17 charge. Headliners are C-List at best, drinks are overpriced and the tables are crammed so closely together that you can't move.

I went to the Bruce Bruce show and boy was it weak. Bruce Bruce rocked but there was no one at the show may be 100 people. And the wait staff didn't come order my drink until the opening act was off the stage. I will not be coming back and as for the other reviews they must have been posted by people that work at Charlie Goodnight's.
Cons: Service, Staff, Managers

The other Saturday I took my two young children ages 6 and 8 to Goodnights for the Family Fun Saturday show with Brad Reeder. We arrived and had a great lunch that my kids loved! Hot dogs and Hamburgers, what every kid enjoys. The show was great and interactive. The kids were allowed up on stage to tell their own knock-knock jokes and also got balloon hats at the end of the show. They enjoyed the magic tricks, the voice impersonations, balloon animals and the jokes. It's a great way to spend a day with your kids and still have time to go out and enjoy the weather!
Pros: Food, Parking, Cost

I have recently moved to Raleigh from San Francisco and love good food and stand up comedy. Having gone to many comedy clubs, I have found that Goodnights is the best one that I have visited. Having been here since January, I have enjoyed the club several times for both dinner and the show and found out that a new owner and management team has taken over. I have never had a bad experience. The service was outstanding and the food was flawless. and I was most impressed with the customer service and attention to detail that was provided.
Pros: Parking, Customer Service, Diverse Menu

The food and service is horrible. All the postitive ratingss are atleast as old as 2002. The only recen review is 2006. I bet you remove the bad ones because many people tell me the food has gone down hill. Be fair. Goodnights needs an overhaul and the reviews will force them to do it. This will save their restuarant. Call it tough love. Do the right thing. The food cam be very embarassing on first dates as well.
Pros: comedy, drinks, NOTHING ELSE AT ALL
Cons: FOOD, SERVICE, FOOD

I was first presented my bill at the end of the show unawary that there would be an 18% grat on a party of 2. I had no prior knowledge of this. When I asked to speak to a manager, the waitress said that he would be over. The show ended and I proceeded to wait upstairs at the bar in a mass of people. Eventually, a staff member from the bar upstairs asked if I needed anything and I proceeded to tell him that I was waiting for a manager. The staff member which said he was sorry for the hassel but the owner is busy and has a hard time getting to all the guest. The long and short if this is what 18%, ticket price, and drinks is getting me, I would rather go somewhere else and I recommend everyone doing the same.
Cons: seating, bathrooms

While the comedy club is still top notch after many years, the food really needs improvement. Champagne Charlies was our choice and while I understand the very limited menu, it needs to at least be served at better than room temperature, especially the price. Also need to find a better crowd flow method so that folks aren't running all over each other when going from the restaurants to the club. Glad to see it is now non smoking in the club and still acts that are worth every cent. But do re-evaluate your restaurants.

Let's be honest folks, usually people don't write honest reviews and tend to vent when one small thing went wrong. I went to see Tim Wilson on 8/22 and had great service every step of the way. We had dinner at Chamagne Charlie's and then caught the show. The servers were very attentive and the food was great. If you want to make sure you get your name on the list for a show, I recommend you call after 1:00 PM to get your name on the reserved list. Mention the website and they are more than happy to take your name.
Pros: Great food, Good service
Cons: Parking, Crowded

I just went and saw Jeff Dunham (ventriloquist) and it was great! I had dinner and then saw the show. The staff may not be sugar-sweet, but they were very accomidating. We ventured down to the Old Bar for a drink after the show to find a very rowdy scene - topped off with girls dancing on the bar!
Pros: packed to the gills!, good parking, entertainment
Cons: not what i expected
