Used to go to H&H Shoe Repair in Cameron Vill but they weren't able to put garter inserts into my boots so I had to go somewhere else. I mostly get shoes zipsoled and heel tips replaced. It's $16.95 to zipsole shoes at H&H and $29.99 at Cobbler's Express. Expensive but worth the cost because the cobbler is meticulous in his work. Comparing the zipsoles from H&H and Cobbler's Express, my Cobbler's Express shoes had: - minimal glue stains if at all visible - minimal nicking around the shoes if at all visible (because they have to cut around the shoe to make the rubber sole fit - zipsoles were glued on straight and even - the rest of the soles that were unworked on are clean (no glue staining/minimal dirt) I've had garter inserts put into Loeffler Randall boots and the inserts were even w/ each other with the seams matching (he had to attach 2 pieces of garter together for each boot bec I have such fat calves). I recently took some Louboutin shoes and some boots I got from Selfridge's to be zipsoled and I am thrilled w/ the results (minor nicking on the patent leather but that's OK). I hope this guy doesn't retire anytime soon bec I would be without a great cobbler! Although it would be nice to get a frequent customer discount :)
Pros: Detailed, meticulous work
Cons: Expensive

Poor quality and unfriendly attitude. The cobbler has charged a hefty price for fixing a pair of French made shoes. His repair lasted for at most a month. When presented with a detached sole, he offered to fix it for another hefty charge and completely ignored the fact that it was him who did a poor job in the first place. If you have an alternative, you would likely be better off using that rather than Cobbler's Express.

Great service, fast work, reasonable prices. I've taken shoes, luggage, and clothing to be altered, all with outstanding results.

My husband and I recently moved from Boston and left behind a wonderful shoe cobbler. We were reluctant to hand over my Choos and his Maglis to a new person, but the gentleman at Cobbler's did a fantastic job. The half soles and heels were very neatly sanded down, and the shoes have never shined brighter. There was a slight language barrier, but hand motions did the trick. Its location in the Cary Mall is also very convenient.
