Skin Sense, A Day Spa

I have been to several spa locations in Raleigh and have never experienced such a wonderful service as I did at Skin Sense. I received a gift card from a friend to Skin Sense and didn't know what to expect. I could not believe how calming and comfortable the spa was. The locker room was wonderful with all the amenities one could need. I was immediately relaxed while sitting in the quite room before and after the message. Thank you all so much for a wonderful experience. I'll be back!!! I've convinced my mother to come with me next time she is in town.

Pros: Relaxing, comfortable, great therapists

I've never felt so pampered in my life. The minute you walk in the door, you are in another world - the great smells, the music - everything is perfect! I've never had a bad service - the massages are amazing and the facials are definately a treat.

Pros: great staff, atmosphere and product choice

Cons: none!

I had to cancel an appointment, and unfortunately called 23 hours in advance instead of the required 24. The salon insisted I would still be charged for the appointment - this despite the fact my appointment concerned only a 15-minute service. I found the rigidity of the cancellation policy unreasonable and agree with other reviewers that blanket policies are inapprorpiate and certainly a bad way to do business. It is a shame that the company would risk jeapordizing customer goodwill in this way. I plan to book all future appointments elsewhere - there are too many quality Day Spas in the Trianlge to put up with such poor customer service.

I made an appointment for a treatment and had to cancel it due to a stomach virus I got in the middle of the night. I was very sick and called them to re-schedule the appointment. The girl on the phone said that I would be charged since I didn't cancel in more than 24 hours. I explained that I understand why they have that policy, but an exception needed to be made due to the fact that I was suddenly very ill and could not leave my home. She would not budge and I will never go there again. The front desk staff is snooty as well. And there are too many other places that would understand something like a sudden illness and make an exception for a prior customer.

I actually have an appointment (massage, facial, manicure and pedicure) at cary location and after reading the reviews here, I am having second thoughts about going there. Is the service really that bad?? How's the maintenance?

The front desk staff are extremely rude. You are rushed in and out. If you are having a facial expect a good 20 minutes lying with the face mask on. A good way of shortening your treatment time Not relaxing. Would not recommend.

I have been going to this particular spa for quite some time now.... I've never had any bad experiences!! The therapists are fantastic and make you feel very comfortable. The girls in the retail area always remember me when I come in. Everytime I go in for services I leave de-stressed and renewed!! I try to have massages as much as possible!! I would recommend arriving early enough to get in the eucalyptus steam room to unwind before you go into the treatment room. I love this place!

Pros: Chase (massage), staff

Cons: parking (Outback)

I was in Skin Sense on 12/07/2005, and had a 6:45 appointment. I arrived at 6:30, spoke with the receptionist (who was on a personal phone call, and acted like it was a chore for her to check clients in), and went to the back waiting area as instructed. My 6:45 appointment came and went, and no one acknowledged me (although several employees walked by). At 7:15, I finally decided to go back to the front where the receptionist was on the phone again. She was no help in telling me why my operator hadn't come to get me, or in offering me solutions to fix the problem. I wouldn't recommend to anyone again.

Pros: Andrea (eyebrows), Camille (eyebrows)

Cons: Always running behind

opon my first visit to skin sence i was quite impressed it has a great atmosphere but the seating in the front was horible, i felt like i was being herded like cattle not very relaxing

This is the perfect location for couples. This was my first massage ( i am hooked) and my friend (the pro) found the location to be the better than any other massage expirences. The atmosphere allows you to forget the stress of the RTP. I am going back for my anniversary!
