I went to Massage Envy on Falls of Neuse for their special $39 massage. I ended up getting an 80 minute massage for $59, the price was great, but I left there feeling much worse than when I came in. I had back problems for THREE days after. The therapist obviously didn't know what to do for 80 minutes, she just kept going over the same spot too many times. She left the drape off on my legs and then off of my back, in turn making me very cold and tensing up my muscles. When I asked her to warm up the table or put the drape back over my legs she didn't do either one. The decor of the office is sparse and not very warm. I am a massage therapist myself and I could tell that my therapist was a recent graduate (which is fine because we all have to start somewhere), but she just didn't know what she was doing. When I checked out I told the front desk about my issues and they just said "I'm sorry, my manager isn't here right now". They still charged me for the session and I asked them to have themanager call me when he came back in. As I was leaving I ran into the manager, I told him what had happened and he said "well if you come back again, call me directly and I'll make sure you get a really good therapist". I want to know why they just aren't hiring good therapists. Then he proceeded to try and recruit me and asked if I wanted a job (Itold him I was a therapist). Botom line, these franchise massage places are inconsistent and are giving good massage therapists a bad name. You really get what you pay for.
Pros: Price is good, but you get what you pay for
Cons: Pooly trained therapists, atmosphere was bland and cold
