MARY is by far THE BEST HAIRSTYLIST I have ever been to. She has a great talent for seeing what your hair will look like before she even starts the first cut. I never have to over-explain what I want, or worry that I will be disappointed -- because Mary always provides perfection. Plus she understands that her clients live in the real world, and that we don't have time to style and blow-dry our hair every day. So she makes it so that I don't have to fuss with my hair for it to look good... I'm basically stylin by the time I step out of the shower. Not only is she great behind a pair of scissors, she also has an exceptional personality and she's totally adorable!!! I took my girlfriend to get her hair cut by Mary, too, and she agrees :D We love love love! Mary!

Mary has been the greatest thing to happen to me since moving to the area. My daughter set up the appointment, then sent me an email the day before, so that I could not back out at the last minute. I am the type of person that comes home and washes/redoes whatever haircut I have received. Mary asked me what I wanted and honestly I gave her free reign. I am thrilled with what she has done to my hair. It is never in a ponytail anymore, always styled, and its EASY. She made sure that I knew how to take care of it and make it look almost as good as she does. Mary is a GREAT person too and very easy to talk to. I wish I could have found her years ago. She is the only hairstylist I have EVER been happy with. Her prices are very reasonable and lets you know ahead of time what things cost before doing them. I just can't say enough of nice things about her!! Thank you Mary!

I have had my hair cut by numerous people in the 15 years that I've lived in the Triangle, and have not been truly pleased until seeing Mary last week. She was very accomodating to my busy schedule, working me in during off-hours. She was fun to talk to, and her price for a cut was very reasonable for the 1 1/2 hours she spent on me. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but she made a wonderful recommendation, and everyone tells me that I look younger. She is great to talk to and spent a long time making sure I felt comfortable recreating the same look at home. She also showed me several different techniques for achieving other looks. I will definitely be returning to Mary and would recommend her to my friends!

Pros: stylish and reasonably priced cut, friendly stylist who listens to you

Cons: an hour from my house (but worth the drive)!

Many stylists no matter what you tell them do what they want anyway, Mary, will do what you want for your hair and color, when she colors my hair or cuts my hair it comes out perfectly, there have been times when I wanted a different look but did not know what and told her to do what she thought would look good, every time it comes out GREAT! She also uses products that are more natural with less chemicals and are less irritating to the scalp. I would recommend her to anyone and have recommended her many times.

Pros: Mary is great

Cons: she is in Cary, I am in Raleigh

i just wanted to respond to curlyhead13's comments. Who cares if it's a coincidence or not. Obviously Mary's clients really appreciate her and her abilities. She has cut and colored my hair too--and she's awesome. I trust her completely and from what i'm reading of most of the reviews, so do a lot of people.

Mary is the best hair dresser I have ever been to. Not only is she creative she is honest. I like that most about her. She puts you as the customer first. I have never walked out of her salon unhappy or disappointmented. Mary should only receive great reviews because she only ever does great hair. Who wants to go to a hair designer that is no fun; Not me. Mary is very personable and was born to do what she does. Her talent is beautiful and no matter the price I am there.

Mary does a great job and is very talented. She is willing to go out of her way to make time for an appointment even if it does not fit into her salon hours. I would recommend Mary to anyone looking for great color and style. She is up to date with the latest trends and even has great hair herself. As you know most hair stylist have messed up hair that is usually butched or multi colored as they experiment on themselves often, but not Mary. The only downside is that I find her prices somewhat steep, but they are consistent with other great stylist in the area, not to mention that I don’t usually spend a lot of money on hair care. Overall, Hair by Mary is a great service added to the triangle area and a great place to go if you like homemade cappuccinos.

Pros: great style and color, talented staff

Cons: high priced color

Mary is a wonderful and talented young lady. I have always received such amazing haircuts and fabulous color from her. She takes her time and is truly interested in making you look the best you can look. If you aren't pleased she is always more than willing to fix it so you look your best, she wants you to be happy with her cuts and color. Not only do I go to her, but I have referred co-workers, friends, and family and they all love Mary as well, she is great!

I had received a really bad color and hair cut from a salon in the town where I live. My hair looked like Donna Reed from the Donna Reed show and added 20 years to my age Two days later, I was to fly to Rochester MN to meet my entire department for the first time. Luckily I was able to get an appointment with Mary the same day. She saved the day. She is a true stylist. She picked a hair style that was 'hip', the color looked excellent and the cut beautiful. My hair flows and I receive compliments on my hair and cut almost daily and I look 10 years younger!! Not only does my hair look good when Mary styles it, it looks great as it is growing out. Mary is excellent!
