After being told by 3 other local shops about my air conditioner needing to be totally replaced, i just couldnt beleive the parts and the labor would total almost 2000,00 dollars. I did ask about remanufactured parts since the car is almost 10 years old. They said that was the cost of these parts, and i had no choice but to do all of it, or it would never work.I was told by a co-worker to give Mitch a call and see what he says, so i did. After dropping off the car with him< i received a call in about 2 hours, he said that something put a hole in the condensor and the cost of the part plus labor was about 300.00. I asked him, are you sure this is all that is wrong? and he replied, if it doesnt fix it, i wont charge you a single penny, of course with that kind of confidence, i said go ahead and do the repair....and guess what..it WORKS, i will never trust any other shop as long as i am in this area...thanks Mitch you have a customer for life....
Pros: HONEST, CARING, PRICE
Cons: parking a little tough, but all else was perfect

I have a 1998 Mazda Protege that has seen better days. Every time I would take it in for an oil change they would tell me all of these things I needed to fix. I told various mechanics that I was saving up to buy a new car and just wanted mine to run but no one listened. They made it seem as though every little thing was necessary to get from here to there. So $300 here, $500 there, and over the course of a couple years I ended up spending almost $2000 on a car that's not even worth that much. Finally, I read the reviews and discovered Mitch. I told him the same thing, that I just wanted my car to last until I could get a new one. He fixed my leaking transmission (by replacing the pan, not the whole thing like the last guy said I needed) and said everything else could slide. He told me the other things were not necessary for my car to run and they would be a waste of money since I was saving up for a new one. This was last fall and my car is still running great. Mitch's prices are fair and he is good about fitting you in if you need something quick. He's the first honest mechanic I've found in the 5 years I've lived here. Honesty is priceless to a woman who knows next to nothing about cars! I will be going to him as long as I'm in the Triangle!
Pros: Location, price, HONESTY
Cons: I didn't find Mitch sooner!

I brought my truck in to Mitch for an estimate on repairing a cracked manifold. He called me later that day and told me that he did not see any cracks in the manifold. In fact, he said that I would just be wasting my money if I made that repair because he did not see anything that needed replacing. A Nissan dealership had "discovered" it when I had my truck in for a routine oil change. They also said that it would not pass inspection unless I made that repair, and they wanted to charge me $1386.81 plus tax for "replacement of exhaust manifold due to both manifolds cracked." Needless to say, I will not be taking my truck for service there ever again. Thanks, Mitch, for the great second opinion and for your honesty!

I took my car to Mitch after reading the great reviews on this site. They are all true! Not an hour after I had dropped my car off Mitch called to let me know what my problem was - a bad starter switch. This problem has been plaguing me for over a year. I've had 3 different mechanics look at it and none of them could ever figure it out. Mitch identified the problem right away! Great guy!

What great service, I had taken my honda to the Autopark, since me A/C system and climate control stopped working on a trip to PA, after being told that something put a hole in the condensor and that i would have to replace that part plus the compressor and a bunch of other parts, then they told me it was going to cost 1900.00 dollars to fix I almost passed out on the floor, I had gone back to work and was telling a co-worker what had happened and she told me about Cary Transmission and maybe I should call them. Well, I did and after only spending 632.00 dollars the A/C system works PERFECTLY, I will NEVER return to the dealership again, they have earned a customer for a long time. I m very happy I took my car there, I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone........THANKS MITCH now we dont have to use our Christmas money for our repair.......
Pros: Clean and very professional
Cons: parking a little tuff, so just park around back

Everyone knows that it is hard to find a good mechanic, especially if you are not willing to spend a ton of money to take your vehicle to a dealer (with no guarantees there, either!). I had grown very frustrated with the repair shop I'd been taking my car to, primarily because every time I dropped my car off with them, no matter how small the repair, it took a week and a half to get it back! Knowing I was going to need major repairs this time, I was no longer willing to take my car to my usual shop. I chose Mitch's business after reading the several positive reviews on this website, and agree with all the positive comments previously posted. Mitch got to work on my car the same day I brought it in (a Friday), and even came in over the weekend in order to get it back to me on Monday. In addition to fixing the major issue (timing belt), he found a problem with spark plugs that had been incorrectly installed 5 years ago, and which had caused my car to run roughly ever since - none of the other mechanics who had worked on my car in the last 5 years had managed to find that problem!! My car now opporates almost as smoothly as the day I bought it brand-new - I had forgotten what that was like! Overall, Mitch provides great service. Repairs were done in a timely manner, and he obviously knows what he's doing. He is very honest and fair, and treats the customer well. I have already shared my positive experience with several people, and would recommend this mechanic to anyone in the Triangle.

Sometimes it's hard to know whether to trust the reviews you read about a place. It's also hard to know whether you can trust a mechanic. We've been searching for years to find a mechanic we can trust, and Mitch at Cary Transmission and Auto Care is the guy we trust. Before being referred to Mitch, we recently took our car to another shop to have it looked at. We were told our tensioner and belt were bad, and the mechanic replaced them for about $400. This, however, did not fix the problem. Next, we were told we had a bad alternator, which would cost us about $600--a total of approximately $1,000 (for a 2004 Toyota Camry!). Needless to say, I needed a second opinion. A coworker referred Mitch. Mitch got me in right away and diagnosed the problem right away--a bad water pump. He replaced my water pump immediately and my problems went away--all for a fraction of the cost! I called the other mechanic from Mitch's shop, as he agreed to help me explain that my tensioner was not bad and that I needed a refund. I got the other shop to refund my money and replace my old tensioner. The car worked GREAT, thanks to Mitch. Then, not but a week or so later, I got a flat tire. I called Mitch, and he had me bring the car over right away, and he fixed my flat in a matter of minutes. On both occasions, he took me in right away (even though he had other customers), fixed my problems, and he didn't even charge me for a few of the small incidentals. To top it off, I was having problems with my air conditioner, which I mentioned to him in passing, and he fixed it in the parking lot after I had already paid and didn't charge me a dime. When I asked Mitch questions he didn't know, or wasn't sure of, he'd call someone else while I waited so we could get answers to my questions. His bill is straight forward, and there's no room for hidden charges. Besides, Mitch is not that kind of guy. Go and see Mitch. You won't regret it, and you'll have found yourself a mechanic you can trust.
Pros: Knowledgeable Staff, Honest Pricing, Fast Service, Will Stand Behind Their Work - Or Your Money Back
Cons: Not a lot of parking, but Mitch gets you in so fast, it doesn't really matter.

Me and my wife have been taking our cars to Cary transmission for some time now, and I thought I would leave some feedback, I also viewed the other reviews. I do not agree with whoever said that Cary transmission wouldnt work on their car, the owner Mitch has always talked with me on the phone, and has answered all the questions we have asked, no matter how petty they might be. Even when I had broken something on the car, he always said bring it in, and lets get it fixed. EVEN WHEN I WAS THE ONE TO BREAK IT. Never did he say, well you did it, now you fix it. Well, to make a long story short, he fixed the air cleaner box that I broke tring to put in a filter, and never once did he complain, or tell us sorry he didnt want to do it, when he had other customers waiting. We are are so glad that someone is willing to do a job, and not feel like they have to charge an arm and a leg. My wife doesnt get off work till after 7 pm at times, and mitch has waited there to just change the oil, so we will continue to use this shop, so i do not beleive for one minute, that he would refuse to work on any car. MITCH, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.......
Pros: Great service
Cons: sometimes hard to find a parking spot
