User Reviews for Carrboro Yoga Company

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

After trying Triangle Yoga, I came to Carrboro Yoga Company, and knew right away that it was a great place to be. I was greeted when I walked in the door by a very friendly person at the front desk who made me feel welcomed and at home. All of the classes that I have taken have been amazing. All of the teachers that I have been to have given clear instructions and, in general, radiate out a sense of warmth and welcome. They have an enormous class schedule, and I find it very easy to find an appropriate class at a time that works for me. Really, you can't go wrong here.

From the moment you walk in the door at Carrboro Yoga Company, you'll know you've found your Yoga Home. The staff are always welcoming, personable, and warm, and the classes flow like our breath does when we're relaxed! I sampled other Yoga studios in the Triangle, looking for one which would inhabit some of the same key elements of the traditional studio I left behind in Milwaukee (Sylvie Horvath, Milw. Mindfullness Center) and I found CYCo. a perfect fit for me. The organic, pleasing atmosphere of untouched wood and brick, the large windows which allow natural sunlight to spill in, the incredibly talented staff- all serve to provide an experience that will keep you yearning for more. Ah- home, sweet home.

Pros: Atmosphere, Talented Staff, Fair Prices

Cons: None

This is my favorite yoga company -- hands down. I've sampled at least seven different instructors, a lot of the class types, and times -- I've never had a bad class. Which is to say, the classes and instructors at CYCo are always great! I especially appreciate Allison's positive feed back during class. When she says, "Beautiful" I feel that she really means it. Ann's Release & Restore on Friday's is a marvelous way to start the weekend relaxed and refreshed. I felt so coddled and cared for after that class, she came around to make sure that I had all the props just so during each of the long poses -- eye pillow, adjust this blanket here, that bolster there -- better than Mom. I only wish the great yoga pants & tops and prayer beads and other goodies were always on sale. Parking can be tricky, but I like the early morning classes best so it's less of an issue for me. I noticed the static from the restaurant downstairs too. I incorporated the happy buzz of all those happy folks (I imagine best friends meeting for lunch) into the general feel-good vib of the scene. I especially like to go with a friend -- they had a great 2for1 deal for newbies a while back. I like that they keep mixing up the offerings. It's not just the same old stuff all the time. I'm going to try the massage soon, although I'm not too interested in pilates. I really enjoy the positive, upbeat yet serene vibration there. I've just hung around talking and soaking in the flavor after class for a while. The calm rejuvinating space is quite a contrast from my busy, crazy, loud life. I'm grateful to have found them.

Pros: Ambience, attitude, options

Cons: more sales on yoga clothes would be great :)

I love CYCo. It reminds me of the first yoga studio I attended in Brooklyn - same intimate, comfortable settings. Prices are fair and the newcomer special is a great way to try diff. classes out without breaking the bank. Instructors have informative bios on the website and seem very knowledgable and well-trained. The two I've been in the most classes with, Virginia and Allison, are great women and teachers - both are very encouraging and supportive, esp. for folks like me who can't always touch my toes! The variety of classes is excellent, though daytime classes can be hard for people who work 9-5's. The night classes are usually well-attended, but not crowded. It took me a few visits to get used to the buzz of the restaurant located directly beneath CYCo., but now it's a kind of soothing hum. Parking can be hard, so get there early enough to find a spot.

Pros: great instructors, good setting, diverse group of students

Cons: parking, restaurant below
