I was just reading some of the other reviews - these people all know how special Tomato Jake's really is... now I want the rest of the Triangle to know how fantastic Jake's is. The food is fresh and homemade and the portions are huge!! we got a pizza and when it arrived it was nice and hot. the toppings were full and to the edge of the pizza just like my wife likes. the kids had pasta dishes and they were so happy. thanks to the tomato jakes staff for making our experience fun and exciting.
Pros: huge portions, friendly staff, excellent pizza

My family and I love this place. I moved from NY and this is the closest thing I can find to NY quality pizza. M @%#* meats pizza is a bargin and in my opinion best pizza on the menu. Also cheese steak and meatball sub (son's favorite) are 2 die for. Staff is very friendly and talkative. They all seem to be happy to be there. Automosphere is great for kids. Lots of places to sit and convienient when we South Point. Hoping they will open one in Briar Creek.

Convenient location, easy seating at lunch on a Saturday during the Christmas rush but the food wasn't the best. My pizza was ok, my husband's meatball sub was cold. The cheese on top had been melted but wasn't really that warm. He bit into it and it wasn't even lukewarm on the inside. He asked that it be heated and they did promptly make him a new one, but the new one was just as cold on the inside and also managed to have melted cheese on top that wasn't really that warm anymore. We're not that picky when it comes to quick service food, but we do expect the food that's supposed to be warm to actually be warm. I'm not sure if they made them all ahead or what.
Pros: Prompt service, friendly staff, ample seating
Cons: cold food

I don't know what other people are thinking, but Tomato Jake's is a fantastic place to eat. The food is always fresh and the customer service is impecable. My favorite is the Rocco's Roasted Pizza. I am also a huge fan of the salads. Being in such a highly competative area for restaurants, Tomato Jake's sets themselves apart from the rest. The owner is always in the restaurant checking to make sure everything is up to speed. The dining room is always clean, and the atmosphere is very inviting for kids, familys or just a friendly get together. Congrats to Tomato Jake's and it's employees, keep up the good work!
Pros: Atmosphere, Parking, Service and Overall Friendliness

We've been to this place on many occasions and have always had a positive experience. Every time we go the owner is there working hard and taking the time to talk to all the customers. As a native New Yorker, I consider myself a pretty good judge of pizza, and this pizza is good. It is not the best I've ever had, but it is much easier to come across lousy pizza joint in North Carolina than a good one. The crust is cooked well, not to thin or thick. My favorite pizza (I can't remember the name on the menu) has ranch dressing instead of tomato sauce, cheese, tomato, and bacon. Its an interesting combination, and is delicious. If you'd prefer a more traditional pizza, those are also good. We've also had the antipasto several times - the ingredients are fresh and high quality - it includes real, fresh mozzarella (hard to come by) and Italian deli meats. I prefer to give my business to people who not only have good food, but where I know they appreciate their customers, which is the case at Tomato Jakes.
Pros: good food, service, location

I'd suggest going a little farther and landing at Bocci's if you want truly delicious Pizza. Tomato Jake's pizza left much to be desired. I ate one slice and knew I'd never return to this establishment again. Customer service wasn't the issue. In fact I was treated kindly. We must face the fact that this is a review and I have to be honest about the quality of what I am paying for. The pizza was not made with love. It tasted awful. It was handed to me with a statement "I can guarantee you've never tasted a pizza like this." and this would be true. I'd have to rate the quality of this pizza on a 1-10 scale as a 2. I won't claim it to be the worst pizza I've ever tasted. It is borderline worst. The crust is processed, something your child would eat at a public school cafeteria in New York. The sauce was horrible and there wasn't much cheese on the pizza. The sad thing is I was hungry that night. I thought I would have eaten anything. I was wrong. There are better pizza establishments in the Southpoint area. Keep driving.
Pros: Good Service.
Cons: Bad Food.

While most places don't care if you come back or not, Tomato Jake's actually seems to care about your business and recognizes returning customers. This type of customer service is a rarity and it should be supported! The pizza's great and the staff is friendly. Overall, it is far better than most of the other restaurants in the area. Give it a try if you haven't already.
Pros: Service is great
Cons: A few too many kids

Sadly, this restaurant was very disappointing. We really wanted to like it too! I don't leave many reviews on this site, but felt I needed to let others know not to waste their $ here. We gave it two tries (yes TWO!)- the second time was much worse than the first. We ordered a "deluxe" pizza- the toppings were minimal, very little cheese, and it all tasted "processed". We don't mind paying a lot for a good pizza. But, this deluxe was $20 and so bad! I have had better frozen! We difinitely won't return.
