I have been going to Mitchell's at Crossroads for about three years now and finally my beloved hairstylist grew to be too expensive for this teacher's salary. On a whim I decided to look into the Hair and Face Lounge. I just needed a trim to my short cropped boy cut and I wanted to add some bright red highlights to my dark brown hair. I called up and told Nicole what I needed and she gave me Kendall. Kendall wasn't just pleasant, she was down-right friendly. She listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly what I asked for. All that *AND* she offered me a beverage! Within the next couple of days my red highlights faded to an orange-pink. I expected some fading but not this fast and not this much. When I called the salon exactly one week after my initial appt and explained my problem, they were able to get me in that day. Again, friendly Kendall consulted with me and then she promptly redid my hair. Within an hour I had new highlights and a beverage! All for no extra charge. Speaking of the price, at Mitchell's I was paying $70 including tip JUST for a cut/trim. At THAFL, the total came to around $80 with tip AND that was with a cut/trim AND highlights. While there the staff/stylists talked to me about everything under the sun and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the no BS policy. I really appreciate people who can be upfront and honest about everything from the hair cut they're giving to politics to celebrities. Thanks guys! I will return.
Pros: friendly, upfront, honest, hospitable
Cons: a good 45 minutes from where I live, but it's worth it!

I went to the Hair and Face Lounge to get a new do. Upon referral, I requested Drew. I still consider myself "young" and still enjoy a trendy and fun style. I've only been in the triangle area for about 6 months now, so I've been on the search for my next great stylist. Well Ladies, I have found him!!! Drew gave me a fabulous, stylish, and trendy new haircut.(that is still age appropriate) He really knew what I wanted, and what would look best on me. I had such a good time with him and the whole staff! This place is sooo much fun AND they know how to do some hair! Tell everyone you know to go to The Hair and Face Lounge. They will definitely be seeing me there again! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!
Pros: A salon with personality
Cons: almost too crowded

The place seems cozy, a nice atmosphere. I have been there twice for an eyebrow wax. The staff member who was styling my brows seemed more concerned with her idea and concept, rather than my own request. After my first visit, I went home and tweezed my brows until I had the high arch which I wanted. During my second visit, I specifically requested a high arch and wanted to open up my eyes. There was only a slight change to the staff member's original waxing technique. While I often consult stylists for their opinion, when I want a certain style, I expect to see those results. Do not go to this salon if you have a specific request or look in mind. This salon is a better choice if you would like to adhere to a consultation, which is good for those who seek a "new look" and don't know what looks best on them. But if I already know what looks best on me, I do not expect to repeatedly hear a second opinion. I'm just glad I went here for my brows and not anything more drastic. An average rating for customer service but below average for meeting specific requests.... I decided not to there again after my second unhappy visit.
Pros: nice environment
Cons: overopinionated sylist

After days and days of whining about my inability to do anything with my hair due to it's less than healthy condition, I decided to do something about it! Being from a small town in NC, I have never paid over $20 for a haircut. Since my arrival to "city life" in Raleigh three years ago, I have been somewhat less than satisfied with the outrageous price of a haircut! The appearance of my hair is extremely important to me so of course, I bit the bullet and paid those ridiculous prices. This time, however, I decided to pay an old friend a visit at her new place of work, The Hair and Face Lounge, in hopes of an inexpensive trim. As I pulled into the driveway, I knew I was in for an experience! Just walking into that cute, comforting atmosphere made me feel at home. As soon as I sat in that stylish, hot pink chair I knew I had made the right decision. My stylist, Kendall, was AMAZING! I told her I needed a trim and that I would like to do something new but of course was scared to do so. Before I knew it, Kendall had transformed my hair into a new, stylish haircut that totally transformed my look. Kendall is new to the salon, but I must say, you would never be able to tell it! She blends right into the trendy, fabulously unique atmosphere The Hair and Face Lounge portrays. I guess it pays to venture out and try new places and stylists. I have certainly found the perfect place for me!
Pros: great price, amazing stylist, relaxing and comforting atmosphere
Cons: I'll let you know if I find one..

Just moving here only a couple of months ago not knowing where to go and all of that. had been researching for sometime before going. I decided to make an appointment. Was able to get an appointment slot within two days from when I called. (How great is that?) IT WAS AWESOME. Christine cut my hair and was just FAB. She took time to discuss our opinions and what I wanted and what she thought would do the best and that kind of thing. My hair was down my back and was really really nervous about getting it short because that is a drastic difference but for some reason I felt good about it so INVERTED BOB here I come.... we DID IT and I am so so happy with it. TO BE HONEST HERE, I don't even think I would have let my hair dresser back home do this... and I trusted her with anything .....Chrisitine was wonderful and I am so happy with my first experience there. I will continue to go back to her for as long as I live here. She is a winner for sure. Everyone there is really nice and friendly. Ashley, the receptionist was very friendly and most helpful in the appt making process and also with checking out and that kind of thing.... everyone was really friendly and it was just a great experience. If you have never been .... GO for goodness sake.... MAKE AN APPT!!! Tiffany, Raleigh NC
Pros: Great Service, Friendly, Overall Awesome
Cons: Just a little pricy only because I come from a small town where you can get a hair cut and color for 40.00 that is all. BUT WILL SAY IT IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!

After years of ugly haircuts and styles thanks to the scissors of the Triangle, I've finally found the one place and stylist that not only meets, but exceeds my expectations! I have naturally curly hair and have worn it different lengths over the years. I went in wanting just a good clean-up and came out looking amazing thanks to the hands of the wonderful Drew! Then I decided to go for highlights (a first) and shorter hair, and he did an AMAZING job! If I could have $1 for every compliment I've received, it'd be better than winning the lottery! The super-cozy atmosphere gives off more vibe than any salon I've been to, and the friendliness and chattiness of both the stylists and customers gives that super southern feel I'd always dreamed of finding! The cuts are very reasonably priced, and I'll be having a date there every 4-6 weeks to keep up my new chic mane!
Pros: Everything! Price, friendliness, atmosphere, product selection & tips!
Cons: That my hair doesn't grow faster so I can go back more often!

Very small salon - cramped - there are only 4 or 5 stylists. The salon is in a small house - the staff is nice, but it seemed like the stylists were more concerned with gossip than actually taking the time to give somone a good hair cut. I had my hair totally screwed up and the stylist that cut my hair (Drew) had the nerve to say "It came out better than I thought" - WTF?? Drew is considered to be one of the "master" stylists too - ha! He was rough and didnt take very much time on my hair. I paid $60 (including the tip) and had to go back the next day to have someone else "fix" my chopped locks. Drew messed my hair up so badly the 2nd stylist told me it would be about 1 month for the really short pieces to "grow into" the style, meanwhile, I'm left with a super short hair cut. Sorry Hair and Face Lounge, I will never go back.

What a great experience!!!!! I had been going to the same salon 45 miles away because I was afraid of change. When my step-sis recommended Toni at the Hair and Face Lounge, I gave it a shot. Am I glad I did!!!!! My outdated bob got a stylish update. I can even fix it to look great myself...it's so easy and I've gotten so many compliments. One girl at work even told me that she loved it so much she was going to have a wig made like it so she can wear it whenever she wants...the ultimate compliment!!!! Thanks Toni!!!!
Pros: customer service, skill, employees' personalities, services completed on time
Cons: none

Today I went to the Hair and Face Lounge for the first time, just moved from the Northeast, and Wow! Very cool place. I had Christine, and I told her to "do something new" - which I NEVER do - because she immediately gave off the vibe of "I knove what I'm doing." You know what? SHE DID!!! She was better than the New York salon stylists who I used to pay $85 for a cut I didn't like. She gave me a cut that gave me volume, looks amazing and easy to style. I feel great and it looks really great too! My husband said WOW and he's a tough critic. Love the place - they are so welcoming. Very friendly. You just have to try it yourself. If you're looking for really experienced stylists, this is the place to go. Nobody recommended it - just read the reviews here and went with it. Happy I did. Going back and won't change. Thanks Christine! Oh, and everyone in the other chairs looked equally happy and you could tell they were repeats as they all knew each other by name, so that spoke volumes too! -Ann Walsh
Pros: Excellent stylists, friendly, comfortable environment.
Cons: None!

I went from having straight long (past middle of my back) hair to having bangs and a just below the sholder layered cut. I'm so in style now! Christine was very helpful. She helped guide me to my decision of how to cut/style my hair. She taught me how to style it to make it have more volume and to frame my face better. They really know what they're talking about. I found my permanent salon!
Pros: Prices are good for the work they do, they are very knowledgeable and helpful, fun atmosphere
Cons: hard to get in an appointment EXACTLY when I want it, but understandable considering how great they are.
