This morning I had my first appointment at Salon Kroma with Kegan. I cannot say enough good things about him. I've never had such a positive experience with a stylist, not to mention how sweet the front desk ladies were. He was very professional, friendly and made me feel so at ease. I LOVE the style he cut for me - I feel like a rock star. I just got back to work and have lost count of how many compliments I've already received after 5 minutes through the door. In fact, I was checked out 3 different times before I even turned out of the shopping center! That's new. :P I've been to dozens of nice salons in the triangle, but always either felt uncomfortable with the too-cool-for-you attitude of my stylist and the staff or just plain hated the haircut. I walked out of there with a new attitude and feeling like I made a friend. I will definitely be back!

I went into the salon last week and had kegan cut my hair (not the first time) and as always i asked him for something out of the box and he delivered! He has such a creative mind and always changes my hair up to something new and unique everytime! I would highly recommend him to everyone. Keep on kickin a$$ kegan!!

This salon is an excellent and clean salon. Their sanitation grade IS posted bedhind th ereceptionist desk, for those of you who say it is not. They have an A and deserve that A. This is salon is very clean, friendly, upbeat, and great designers. Everyone that works at Kroma is awesome. The two reviews talking about this salon NOT being clean, they are very wrong and you should come check and Kroma for yourself. You will not be let down. This is a GREAT salon all around. Kroma keep rockin!!!!!

I totally agree with the "Not clean" review. At first, I thought it was just me. Apparently not. You said: "I just wonder how many "clients" would actually even know that salon grades are even listed on the website. Seems like something only someone in the business would know." And I just wonder what the Licensing Board would say after they read what you said? Doesn't the law require that the sanitation grade be posted in salons for the consumer, just like they do for restaurants? Here is the fact: the sanitary rating for Salon Kroma of Raleigh is in the bottom 20% of salons in Raleigh. You said: "We would love to have a 100, but if you research the website, you will see no one else does either." Another fact: In Raleigh, there are at least 5 salons that have 100. A lot of them have 99 and 98. So, please don't blame it all on competitors. Here is the message to anybody who is thinking of going there: "If you go to restaurants with low sanitary ratings, you have nothing to worry about!"

For all you ladies out there who enjoy finding a new stylist about as much as a new bathing suit, this rating is for you! I can think of only a few things worse than trying to find a new stylist so I spent a lot of time talking to friends and looking at reviews when it came time for me to change stylists. I had heard great things about Salon Kroma and the reviews were mostly positive so I gave them a try. My stylist was Callie and I went in for cut, color and highlights. The salon is clean and orderly. The receptionist was friendly. Callie was professional in dress and manner. She asked me questions, showed me a color chart and we talked about how I styled my hair. The result is FABULOUS. The color is exactly what I wanted and the cut is perfect. While I was there, a lot of different types of people came through the door. Young, old, college students and professional people. Even a little girl of about 6. Everyone left looking great! So, I highly recommend Callie and Salon Kroma.

I have never REALLY been happy with a triangle salon experience until now. Everything else around here seems a little too stifled and uptight. The atmosphere here is great and really makes you comfortable. The cut and shampoo Amy gave me was the best i've had since i stopped driving an hour out of town. I hope to go back very very soon. Thanks Amy, You ROCK!!!

I was shocked to see that the salon was not clean! They claim to be the best in the area, but when I looked at the health scores of hair salons on the Licensing Board web site, I found out that there are 513 salons in Raleigh, and only 95 salons - 18% - have a lower health rating than Salon Kroma!!! What a shame! I will not be going back!

Salon Kroma is the best. I have a bad habit of waiting until the last minute and then I really need a cut and color. Kim fits me in so it works with my schedule. I will not let anyone else touch my hair. I have gone elsewhere and they only mess it up, so I came back to Kim. Dana takes very good care of my daughter and seems to know exactly what she needs also. When my friend from New York visits, she even goes into Salon Kroma while she is here. They really are the best!!!

I met Callie during a training night, where my boyfriend volunteered to be a model for training. She asked me if I would come in for a subsequent training night and receive a free haircut. I was a little nervous, but Callie is very professional and friendly. She seemed very confident in what she was doing, so I felt comfortable. So far I've been back to Callie for haircuts ever since! I love the styles she has given me, and she explains what I need to do to keep my cut looking good once I get home. The atmosphere at Salon Kroma is fun and friendly, definitely not pretentions like some other places I have been over the years. I get compliments on my haircut all the time! I haven't had any color done yet, but I won't go anywhere else for a haircut, that is for sure!

Pros: Great atmosphere, excellent service and prices.
