I was in town near Crabtree area for a business meeting. My luggage was lost during my flight from Atlanta to Raleigh. Had to purchase two suits and couple shirts and slacks and needed for the next days to wear to the meeting. Duke’s Tailor did excellent job all my clothes. My clothes were ready the next day. My appreciation to Duke’s tailor. Highly recommend!
Pros: service, quality, friendly, etc..

Warning to all local businesses: I am writing to let you (the readers) beware that Duke's Tailors is not the only victim that "Fuquayeditor" has complained about the prices and services. She was rude, disrepectful and mean. Also, I don't know the people @ Duke's Tailors but "the old lady" has a name. As you can see, she was unkind and tried to cheat all her vendors that she had dealt with. Thumbs up for Anna for REFUSING service to "FUQUAYEDITOR". By the way, The name of the "Fuquayeditor" is STACIE MAJORIA. All RETAILERS BEWARE OF THIS PERSON.

If I can pass only one nugget of information gleaned from my wedding planning experience, it would be DON'T TAKE YOUR WEDDING GOWN to Duke's tailor's. I took my expensive gown to Duke's Tailors on Creedmoor. The tailor pinned my dress at the hem, which was slightly too long, and the sides of the skirt, which were slightly too wide. She also suggested we take in the chest a slight amount - she insisted it was no big deal and would be easy to fix. 2 1/2 weeks later I got a call from Anna quoting the fee at $280. I was SHOCKED!! Their website listed wedding gown alterations as: $35 for sides $60 for hem. (Since then, Anna has removed most all of the prices). After I objected to the fee (my dress had NO detail, thus no complications, on the skirt sides or hem), Anna dropped the price to $150 (i told her not to work on the so-called "easy" chest). BTW - She also quoted me $100 for pressing. My new tailor is only charging $40. After realizing that Anna was SERIOUSLY inflating prices, I called the next day and asked for an estimate on a ballroom bustle. Anna flat out refused to give me an estimate and suggested I go elsewhere if I "was going to give her this trouble." I gladly agreed. I found numerous mistakes when i went to pick up my gown. I thought, based on these other reviews, that they would at least do a professional job! Not! The hem on my gown was too short (several inches off the floor) and they had also forgotten to hem the inside slip, so it was long. Also, the skirt was still too big. The old lady said she could fix it but I did not trust them after this awful experience & I had already made another appt. with a competent tailor who had no problem quoting prices. when I called Anna, to try to settle the dispute, she refused to let me speak and hung up on me. She actually said I WAS THE PROBLEM. DON'T let Anna's reply to this review DISCOUNT THE TRUTH. The ONLY 2 "PROBLEMS" I posed were: a) objecting to being overcharged and b) requesting an estimate.
Pros: none
Cons: big errors on your wedding gown, rude service, unprofessional work, unfinished alterations

Though I can't speak for other users and reviewers, I CAN say that my own personal experience with Duke's has been nothing short of incredible. While Tracy is always a delight to work with - she remembered my name the second time I came in, which I should note was months after the first time - I've gotta say that today has truly defined my experience with Duke's. I had a friend's wedding to attend this evening and decided to wear a suit that I had altered four years ago. I tried it on last night and quickly realized that I'd need alterations made if I'd want my best. So - I came in at 10 this morning (when they open on Saturdays), asked Tracy if she could take in the sides on my jacket and a little bit at the waist of my pants, AND have it ready for tonight. She said yes. I was thrilled. She told me to be back at three. As the day went by, I had errands to run all over town and got back at five not realizing that when she'd told me three o'clock, that was when they were closing. Though the OPEN sign was turned off, I stepped in the door and found Tracy, still there two hours after closing, waiting around for me. Talk about costumer service! I don't think I've EVER experienced anything like that before! The alterations were perfect and I made it to the wedding in style! I can't thank her enough!

Hi; I am home seamstress for over 30 years. I only work on refer only base on wedding gown. When wedding season come, I am over whelm with request that I tell my customers to go to Duke's Tailor. I only referred them to Duke's Tailor cause they been doing this since and in business since 1980s. I trust them and they are the honest family I know. I could not help but intervene on this conservation. I charged for doing bustle from $65 to $95 depends on the bustle style. All my bride that I end up doing alteration for paid me from $250 to $350 ticket for hem, side and bustle. The most popular these day on bustle request is to do the triple bustle style. This bustle style is very complicate job and can cost you from $90 to $160 depend on the gown and material of your gown. Bustle is not easy to do. No all bustle style work on all wedding gown style and material. You have to carefully arranges and layout the bustle to look prefect on the wedding gown. Take a train eye and experience person to know where to put and sew the material together and sew the hook and eye so it would not be visual when you showing off your bustle at your wedding day. French bustle work well on most wedding cause the elegant style. If you want to know more about french bustle here great link. Link has a picture of what french bustle look like. If you think you can do the bustle for under $50 please do it yourself. I would not even consider it and my service charge for this complicate job is in high end $90. Since I can not past the link. You can search on yahoo or google: french bustle wedding gown click on leanna leanna Bridal/BustleQ/FrenchFactors.htm You can find more about different bustle style that works on different gown style and material. Here the link: 101weddingtips
Pros: Experience, seamstree, honest, location, high quality
Cons: none

I went to Duke’s tailor to have my wedding dress alter back in December. Tracy works alteration on my wedding gown and turn out wonderful. My dress was unique, yet traditional. It was truly "one of a kind". From the first day until the day I picked it up for the big day, I felt confident. I see the detail that went into my dress alteration on my wedding gown hem, bustle and sides had to be take in. Duke’s tailor steams my wedding gown and all my bride maid dress. They pay attention to detail. Duke’s is the best tailor in the triangle. Tracy is very professional, knowledgeable, honest and helpful. I live here in Raleigh all my life, I will recommended to you all bride-to-be do not go any where else. In response to the previous post bride, calling Tracy con-artist is uncalled for over $45 bustle. If you call all other tailors in town, you would know they would charge you from $65 to $120 depend on bustle you want. Bustle is not easy to do on wedding gown. Tracy is sweetest person I have met and for you call her name over $25 you end up paying her and she even offer full refund, raleigh12345 have no class at all. It's clearly some one is very unreasonable and can not be please no matter what you do. All the things you said about Tracy is not true. I ask every brides that had gone to Duke’s Tailor and Tracy works on your wedding gown to post your comment and voucher with me on this….. Thank-you search city for helping me find Duke's Tailor! Great customer service! Wouldn't go anywhere else! My name is Renee you can email if you have any questions.
Pros: Professional, friendly service, location, experience, high end quality

Tracy was very nice the first time I went in with my wedding dress. She pinned everything and the bustle was beautiful. When I came to pick it up, she said, "French bustle did not look good." She told me they did something else. When I looked at it I realized that all she had done was sewed a tiny hook and one tiny loop of thread and had charged me 45 dollars!!!! I asked her if the price should come down since it was much more simple than we had originally discussed. She said no. I then mentioned that I had seen on the website that bustles were 24 dollars. After this she finally gave me 20 dollars of the 45 back. I called the next day because the more I thought about it the more upset I got. When I explained my frustration to her she was very defensive and kept referring to me as "sweetheart" in a condescending manner. Although she offered to refund all of my money if I brought my gown back in, she was so incredibly rude about it that I would rather lose out on the money than have to see her again! She also kept saying that other places would have charged 75 dollars for what she did to my dress. I called around and got prices from 5-10 bucks! what a rip off!!! do not go to her.. she is terrible!!!!!!!

I recently took my wedding dress into Duke's Tailor after reading their great reviews on Citysearch. So far, I've had 2 fittings & everything is perfect. Tracy is custom making a veil for me as well as shortening the hem of my wedding gown (which has very intricate beading & lace), adding a bustle and making a few other modifications. Beyond the great quality of the alterations, the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend Duke's Tailor!
Pros: Clean, Great Location
