I didn't want to overspend so I chose a "classic" design women's haircut for $40. It was worth every penny. My stylist took about an hour with me. She shampooed and massaged my scalp and neck -- such a treat! And she consulted for about 10 minutes with me on the look I was going for. She kept the conversation interesting and fun throughout. When I opened my eyes I saw my beautiful, new cut and felt like a million bucks! As I left the salon I kept looking at my reflection in the shop windows, squeezing very second out of that feeling. Andee was terrific. I'd highly recommend her.

Darrell has been doing my hair forever and I absolutely love him! I am truly blessed to have known him because he not only was my hair stylist but a true friend. Lita is the most caring and sweetest person ever. She is attentive and intelligent. They're great friends.

Jay is a great stylist... I refused to set foot in the Preston Walk salon after having a horrible experience with Rob. He was by far the worst hair dresser I have ever had. I'm not sure what his problem was but it has been almost a year and I can't forget the horrible cut and service I got from him. I tried a few other salons but when I first moved here Tara who used to work at the Preston Walk salon did such an excellent job and I didn't want to write off the salon b/c of a person like Rob...obviously they hire real talent like Tara. I decided to give it another whirl at a different location where Jay worked after reading his rave reviews. He did a really great job. I was very pleased not only with his styling ability but also his personality. He wasn't an arrogant and self absorbed person like Rob and he really knew what he was doing. Very pleased and thank you for such great talent:-)
Pros: Jay, location, ambience, price
Cons: Rob

I have been using this shop since the opening, and have used a particular hair stylist for years before. They have always listened to what I want and been very attentive to my needs. Even fitting me in when I had a hair emergency. I highly reccomend this shop for their services and quality products.
Pros: I feel beautiful when I walk out of there.

Wow, I'm surprised folks have had bad experiences. Julian has been cutting my hair for years.I have had long, short, curly and color and highlights you name it. I have never observed any behavior that I would consider "being looked down on". I usually go in with my stay at home mom look and come out looking great. I'm never dressed to impress anyone when I go in. Never had any confusion with appointments or rude staff. The girls at the desk have always been sweeties and have manage to remember me when I need to fit in for a cancellation if I've had to change an appointment.
Pros: great hair everytime
Cons: funky hair salon music

For the calibre this hair salon boasts I have to say it is not at all what is the case. They boast like some really upscale salon, but really are very mediocre. I found the front staff terribly inconsiderate and not very kind. I felt looked down upon and never really listened to. The female stylist I had started to be ok but quickly let me know she was in charge and had an attitude that she was doing me a favor! Her work was inconsistent and you could never talk directly to her about it. Honestly I felt like she had an exaggerated sense of importance. If you dare question her or suggest something that you know about your own hair it was really frowned upon. Having lived in Chicago and Denver, I found they wanted to be competitive with the trends and styling. But without really top notch customer service and stylists that really care and are sincere and a front staff to match, this girl said bye bye. I can think of better Salons to spend my money. Frankly it seems without Jay they may not have much of a salon. Wake Up! Real, sincere, service is still a cool thing! not a dirty word!
Pros: An ok location
Cons: Nil on customer service. Nil on caring about what you want. Aweful receptionists; don't care a bit!

Initially I felt this salon was a very pleasant experience. I felt Jay was pleasant and cared seeming to know what he is doing. Had I gone to him I would probably still go there. However, it was my experience the women there are not customer service oriented . I find them to be more wrapped up in themselves and how they look than in the customer. I felt my stylist was moody and was not a good listener. When she made an error in my color, I felt she nor the staff really cared. I felt they were rude and condescending. The salon looks good and has nice products. But in my opinion they are not there for the customer. It was my experience they did not really know what it means to be a customer, nor to listen to what the customer wants. I found the experience to be a disappointment.
Pros: Good Hair Products
Cons: Poor service and poor communication

For the quality that this hair salon claims, they sure don't know how to treat customers! I had a standing appointment for a hair cut for at least a month. I show up for my appointment with the appt. card. For a 1:45 appt. They said you should have been here at 1:00 today. I showed them the card and they said oh we screwed up. Yeh, then she said if you wait 15 minutes we can 'fit you in'. Fit me in!! I'm paying for 'this time' for myself! 50 minutes later! They get me into the chair and I get a 'dusting' maintenance trim! Then they had the audacity to charge me $40.00 for a hair cut. BTW, you screwed up the appointment, the time spent on my hair was 15 minutes!! I've been coming to the salon for 2 years. But, this is it! $40.00 for a 'dusting/trim' is ridiculous! Caveat Emptor(Buyer/customer beware!)
Cons: staff unknowledgeable, not worth the price!

If you would like to place yourselves in the hands of truly competent and pleasant hair stylists, this is definitely the place you want to be. Jay takes care of my hair. In my first meeting with him, I found him to be most accomodating, patient and very insightful. He listens to your needs and then is able to translate that into a style that suits both your face and your lifestyle. Jay stays up to date on the newest trends and techniques and is able to apply them in a way that compliments the individual. This place is wonderful!!!!
Pros: Even offered me a glass of wine, soft drink - very nice experience
Cons: a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area

After visiting several other stylists with similar prices and years of experience, I have finally found the one I am sticking with...Jay at J & F Gemelli is great! He suggested a cut that fit my face shape, etc. very well and did an excellent job of cutting it. He took time to decide what look would be best and did a very thorough job making sure it was cut correctly.
