I've never had a single bad experience here. The service is consistently good and the food is always fresh and delicious. I don't know exactly how "authentically Irish" it is with tortellini on the menu and all but it is definitely worth a try if you're considering it.

Pros: Any dish with chicken in it! Great service.

Cons: Can be a bit crowded with loud after-workers at the bar

My husband and I love to meet our friends here for dinner and drinks. Especially if they are from "up North" the food is always good, the drinks go just right with both the food and atmosphere, and you're not surrounded by tv's in every corner ( there are a few, discreetly placed for those who need their fix. When it comes to Irish pub's you can't beat Hibernian, both in Cary and Raleigh

Pros: Great atmosphere, beer and food

Cons: None

We were so happy when HP came to cary. The one on Glenwood Ave in Raleigh was great. But we have been four times, each time avg food, slow service watered-down drinks and incredibly smoky atmosphere.

Pros: only place open really late in Cary

Cons: service food rinks atmosphere too smoky

This is a spot you can go when you're asking yourself "Self, what do you want to do?" It has music, all kinds of people, food, drinks; I don't know about martinis,(what idiot orders a martini in an Irish pub) and good service. It's a great place to spend the weekend.

Hibernian was recommended as we were looking for an authentic Irish pub for the area. What a great find!! The staff was courteous and friendly, Andreas & Pete really made us feel like we were special! Too bad we had to go back to Wisconsin as if we lived down here we would definitely be in all the time! (We might be moving here and being close to the pub will definitely be a criteria!)

Pros: staff, food, service

Cons: parking

Things have really turned around at the Cary location! Food quality is outstanding, service is better than it was in the past and the bartenders are as charming as ever. Whatever the owners did to change -- Keep on Going! Truly a pleasure to enjoy lunch or dinner.

Pros: ambience, service, staff

Cons: smokey at pm, live music LOUD

We were promptly seated by an open door with a chilly draft at a table uncofortable placed in the wide open. All the fans were on as well. We sat ungreeted for 20 minutes, enough for us to approach the host stand and ask for help. We were told we were seated in non-smoking, even though we requested smoking, but then were later told by another staff member that we could smoke anyways. It was all very unorderly. For a pub with an Irish name, the food was way off base and I would have liked to have been offered a good Irish beer other than Guinness or Harp. Our mistake was that this restaurant was affiliated to the one in Raleigh, which is a great pub. We will not make that mistake again. At least the food was reasonable, when we finally received it.

Pros: food, portion size, lighting

Cons: service, chilly!!
