I finally do see "real" reviews about this dentist and I agree. If you are ready to spend around $2500 or much more if you don't have insurance for 1 tooth for root canal AND a crown (which is required) then go ahead. Oh, and while they are doing the procedure, they may just come up with another reasoning that they have to perform something...like a mini surgery, etc. . and wont tell you the price while you are in the chair. The work being done is good, no complaints on that. However, how dare you do not tell your patient that if "A" procedure is required, then this will be extra $___, etc. If you have thousands and thousands to spend, or money coming out of your nose, etc, then go ahead. Absolutely rip off, and seems like they don't want to save teeth, they want procedures :)

Cons: Charge way too much

I have to agree with two of the recent reviewers. I only went in for a cleaning, and they found a number of things wrong with my teeth that my previous dentist (who I just saw 6 months ago before moving here) had never seen. I ended up getting a second opinion as well, and they said only one of my teeth needed a small filling instead of the huge amount of work they said I needed done. They did not explain what they needed to do in laymans terms (even after I asked for a better explanation!) which made it even more frustrating, they just wanted me to come back for a ton of work. Comparitively speaking the prices are very high (I checked around with several other local practices in addition to the one where I sought a second opinion). Their front desk staff also made me very upset. They were very rude to me and some of the other patients I saw coming through. In my mind this is still a business and the customers need to be treated with respect - they are the ones who pay the bills! Ttwo of the girls made very derogatory comments about other patients as soon as they walked out - right in front of me and other patients! They actually did this when I was checking in AND checking out, which makes me wonder what they said about me after I left! Someone needs to work with them on customer/patient service skills, or get a new staff all together. They make the business come across as very unprofessional. I am changing dentists, definitely, and I would recommend staying away from this practice.

Pros: Office, good technicians

Cons: Terrible front desk staff, high prices, questionable practice

I also tried this dentist and I agree with the other writer that these reviews must be his groupies. I didn't find this dentist to be special, as the other writing's suggest. Nothing stood out as great service. It was average/typical. I was also told I had cavities that I didn't have. I see a dentist every six months and this dentist, Dr. Cheek claimed I had many cavities that had been there for some time. How could my last dentist have missed so many, I thought. It was going to cost me a lot of money. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and did not get the same opinion/results. I came to the conclusion that either they are no good or they are in this to RIP OFF people by doing procedures that are not needed. This is one of those dentist that try to sell you everything, find things that aren't there, and charge at a very high cost even if you don't need it. I also asked to be scheduled with Dr. Adams and was told I was. When I arrived for my appointment I had no idea they scheduled me with the other guy, Dr Cheek . I wasn't impressed. Make sure if you go there you have a lot of money and if you're unsure get a second opinion like I did.

Pros: New office

Cons: Rip Off

I first started seeing Dr.s Adams and Cheek a year and half ago. The reviews and feedback I had recevied about their practice were quickly confirmed upon visiting them for the first time. Dr. Adams worked out a comprehensive care plan for me (I have A LOT of dental issues that need to be fixed), but he did this by thoroughly explaining what needed to be done when, prioritizing the procedures, etc. The dentist is one of the few places that I tend to get stressed out, not so much being in the chair itself but the paperwork and decisions that must be made around all of the procedures. Dr. Adams and Cheek have been extremely helpful when it comes to making those decisions and putting my mind at ease.

Pros: Professional staff, payment plans

Cons: none

I am writing this as a thank you to Dr Cheek, but a mere thank you cannot fully express the appreciation for his generous and kinds acts in replacing the tooth that would have been a "gap". So, please accept my eternal gratitude and heartfelt thanks for giving me a reason to continue smiling.

I went to this doctor because I saw good ratings here on this web site. now I know that all these folks are his groupies. He has zero compassion with very blotted unclear and staggered fees. Get a loan before going there. I strongly urge everyone not to pay too much attention to these ratings.

Cons: There is no compassion

After having several bad experiences with my previous Dentist. A friend recommended Dr Adams to me. I was seen quickly as I had to have a root canal. I couldn't be happier with the final result. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to having any dental work done. Dr Adams made me feel comfortable and his nurse Joyce made sure I was comfortable during the procedure. All the staff is friendly and welcoming. You will not feel intimated. I am not afraid of the Dentist anymore.

I recently called Dr. Adam's office for a consultation for a root canal. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to see me within 48 hours, determine a treatment plan and schedule an appointment to have the work done. I had never had a root canal before and was a bit anxious from what you hear from other people. I am also a healthcare provider and believe I understand quality of medical care and have high expectations for my medical providers. Dr. Adam's staff was courteous, friendly and able to ease the sting of a very expensive procedure by explaining everything and making it as easy as possible by their explanations and friendliness. Joyce, Dr. Adams assistant was so gentle it was hard to tell she was working on a very sensitive tooth. Her gentleness and kindness made 3 hours in the dental chair bearable. Dr. Adams made sure I was in no pain, even the needles were hardly noticeable. He worked and worked on stubborn tooth roots and put on a new crown with as much ease seemingly as having a cavity filled. I was very pleased to have such a painfree, high quality experience and expect to visit their office again.

Pros: Very friendly, helpful, kind staff, excellent equipment environment and knowledge

Cons: None

Best Dentist in Raleigh! Believe me, after moving from AZ two years ago, I have gone to two other dentists, and have finally found one I feel comfortable with. Dr. Adams is wonderful. He did two crowns for me. I am usually afraid of dentists, but Dr. Adams is so professional and gentle, that the procedure was done very quickly and with very little discomfort. His staff is very friendly and caring. Thank you to Cookie, for making me feel at home and to Tamara, the hygenist, who is also great. Dr. Adams and his staff made me feel like we were all old friends.

I decided to try this dental office based upon the reviews on Citysearch. The reviewers (giving high ratings) were obviously right. I was very impressed with Dr. Cheek's directness and honesty during our initial consultation. I immediately moved my family's dental care to their office. The staff was also very friendly and service oriented!!!

Pros: Saturday hours, nice office, friendly and knowledgable dentist

Cons: None
