I decided to give Jill's Beach a try based on the favorable reviews I read on this site. My experience however, has been extremely disappointing. Regardless if I am the only one in the salon or there is a line, it takes forever for the staff to check folks in! I have never seen anything like it. It appears there are a couple of reasons for their poor customer service. One reason is that everyone working there seems so disorganized...not quite sure how to work the beds, the music, or the computer. Another reason is that the staff is often on the phone and only gives customers their partial attention. My last trip though was the deal breaker for me. The staff member was on the phone and did not realize I was waiting in line and checked in someone else that walked in after me. Of course, as luck would have it, the individual wanted to use the same bed as I did. This created a situation where I had to wait over 30 mins extra to tan, due to the staff not properly attending to the customers. When I pointed out the issue to the staff member, she was clearly embarrassed, but did have the professional skills to correct the situation and instead tried to convince me to use another bed. What a joke! As soon as my contract (which by the way is a mandatory 2 month contract - so be careful to read the fine print carefully when signing!) is up, I will take my business elsewhere.

Cons: the doors at the new location don't work, the staff is inattentive, long waits, very limited hours

Jill’s Beach is great. The girls were very friendly, the place was immaculate and the beds were awesome. They have a low price club with no contract, which is huge. It seems everyone wants you to agree for a year. I don’t know where I will be in a year! The no contract really sold me on Jill’s Beach and the beds are the nicest I have seen. It’s a great place to tan and I like supporting a local business.

Well the next review obviously comes from someone who works at Palm Beach Tan. Jill's Beach has the best beds you can get, the spray tan is the Mystic and they use the premium solution. There is no way it is orange and streaky! The place really is the best in the area and there is a lot to be said for locally owned businesses, you get to talk to the owner, not some corporate manager. Sorry jn2000 but you are full of it.

Pros: Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, great beds.

Cons: Nada

This place was recommended by a friend of mine, but I have been three times and the tanning beds were weak, the spray tan made me look orange and streaky, and it was way too expensive! Palm Beach Tan had a better deal. I had high expectations, but this place really disappointed me.

Cons: They don't offer appts, so you have to always wait.

Great salons. The beds were awesome! I brought my own CD and just relaxed. The place was very clean and Jill was fabulous!! ;-)

Pros: You can tan at any location

Cons: Everyone goes there so sometimes you gotta wait

No appointments neccessary, which is a plus as you can run in whenever you feel the need to tan. There may be a slight wait during the spring months, but I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes. The tanning beds are the best I have seen in the triangle. A 20 minuter session in the gold bed is equivalent to two sessions somewhere like Electric Beach. They staff is also trained extremely wll, and they will not allow you to tan longer than you should, which means no burning! The facility itself is immaculate. Upscale decor, and ALWAYS clean. I recommend this tanning salon over any other in the triangle, and I have tried most of them!

I love the spray tan. Long lasting and affordable. Nice staff very clean environment.
