I have read all of these written reviews and I would like to just say that this is a tuff business and if you think that anyone on the Avanti staff is harsh then just like the other person stated, this is NOT the business for you at all. I have seen the personal attention and care that each one of the staff puts into the talent that they work with. Now I can say that if you are somebody that is lazy and does not do your part or someone who doesnt know how to take constructive critisism then no you are not going to get respect from a staff that is working hard to produce a great showcase for you. I have seen other conventions and they are so cheesy! The professional show that is put on by this staff speaks for itself. It takes hard work to be successful in this industry and if you are not willing to work hard and deal with rejection then do not even start in this business. The money that Avanti charges is absolutely minimal especially considering all that comes with that. Anyone that has a problem with that obviously has never tried to get anywhere in this business. I just saw someone spend over $350.00 on just ordering pictures! That does not include the cost of the photo shoot (another $525.00) I would really advise anyone who wants to get into the business to really use common sense!

My daughter just completed the June 1st Avanti Showcase. I was very pleased with the event as well as the number of callbacks (5) she received. As for the $850 fee, that was a drop in the bucket compared to the nearly $3000 I paid at John Robert Powers, with nothing to show for it. If you find Jennifer's personality offensive, this isn't the industry for you. There are much worse attitudes out there.

After being in this business for years I decided to take a break. Well that break turned into years of being out of the loop. I worked in one of the biggest markets in high fashion. I was needing to find a break with a company that would actually get me back in the business and do it honestly. I know what to look out for and when someone really knows this industry. After my first meeting with Avanti I knew the staff there really knew the industry. I knew it was going to cost money to get back into the business so i was curious to see how much it would cost here. When i first heard how much I thought they were joking. This is how much some people pay to get a photo shoot let alone everything we got at Avanti. There was another lady there that had spent close to 5000.00 to go to a convention in Atlanta with no pictures!!!!!!! This is the real deal and done with honesty. I am now working with one of the most professional agents I have ever met and am very happy with all my jobs that I have booked through them. Thank you to Avanti!

I just attended the Avanti showcase this past weekend and I have to say it was the most professional production I have seen in years. The room that the show was in was put together very profrssionally and the stage was beautiful! I have attended so many other conventions that they literallty just put Christmas lights on the stage and maybe a cheesy sign on the wall. The models looked beautiful and they rocked on the runway!!!!!!!! After the show I spoke with some of the agents that were there such as Elite NY and they said that they love to come to the Avanti show because it is so professional and thay they are REAL!!!! So for the three people that wrote a negative comment (2 of them never even worked with Avanti) I feel really sorry for you. YOu are idiots! You know nothing about this business and how it actually works. Its people like you who make this a hard business to get into because if something dosent go your way you say they are a scam. Avanti is far from a scam and anyonw who sees a production that they do would know that. As far as the owner get real! You just proved that you never have actually worked with anyone in this business. She is nice compaired to LA and NY agents. She knows what she is doing and is good at her job. If you cant take the heat get out of the kitchen! I would reccomend Avanti to anyone wanting to get into modeling or acting.

My daughter is about to perform in the current Showcase Event put on by Avanti. She has been training with them and taking the free workshops through John Casablanca for 6 months. Regardless of whether or not she gets any callbacks from this event, the $850 we paid has been well worth it. She previously trained for over a year with John Robert Powers and got absolutely nothing from it. Plus we paid much more at JRP, and the showcase event they wanted her to go to would have run more than $5000 out of pocket for us. Since starting with Avanti she has done much better in her auditions. She has even used the monologue she has been practicing with Avanti to get selected for an elite Drama program very few Freshman get selected for. While it may be her dream to become a professional, at 14 years of age we were much more interested in her developing confidence in herself while polishing her skills. Avanti has certainly delivered on this. We hope she does well this weekend but we would absolutely recommend Avanti to any other parent considering this for their child. While Jennifer may be a little rough around the edges at times, she certainly drives their clients to be their best. To the reviewers that delivered negative reviews but did not actually have an association with Avanti, I question the integrity of their review. For those that went through the process and were not selected, welcome to reality. Maybe you need to examine your commitment and expectations.

I am truly shocked at the comments made by these ignorant people. I have tryed to get into this business for years. I have gone to several conventions such as IMTA and proscout and have spent thousands of dollars to attend these conventions all to just be another number. There were literally thousands of people there at the same time in the convention. We were hearded like cattle through the lines to show our pictures. When I went through Avanti it was so personal. There were less then 100 people in the show and we had months of preperation, not to mention we actually got to show our talent in the show. The staff at Avanti were so wonderful to me and my family. We felt like we were family! Nothing but professional are these people. As far as the owner, she is a very knowledgeable person and is very serious about what she does and expects the same of her models and actors. If someone does not get callbacks from an agent that is thier own fault!!!!!! If they dont perform well how is that Avantis fault? You have to practice alot to be good in this business. Get over your self pitty party and quit talking trash about people that dont deserve it! There are too many scams out there to put people like this in the same catagory. This is an honest company. These people are idiots!!!!!!!!!! Do your homework people! I would tell anyone that wants to get into this business to go with Avanti anyday!!! They know how to get it done and done right.

I am a current Avanti client; their intention is to provide an opportunity for people with little or no experience to be seen by agents around the country, including casting directors and a NY management company, in a very well done "showcase" format. This venue allows us the opportunity to be seen by these agencies where the opportunity may not have existed due to our work history. Where else can you be "in the spotlight" to showcase YOU in a most positive and flattering light? I lived in Hollywood, CA, many years ago and had an agent for a short time. I'm now returning to the business where the reality is that what you look like doesn't get you hired. It's what you have to offer to fit a business need; in this case the business is show business. Why would these agents wish to form a business relationship with you? What can you show them you have to offer? Afterall, they can hire people with experience. What are your "tools in your tool kit"? I was blessed to watch my peers bloom from their nervousness into gaining confidence and self-esteem, and that alone is something so profound I will never forget--it's priceless. I am very grateful to Jennifer and her staff for their direction, commitment and caring of our success and am touched by her constant emotional support. I received 8 callbacks of 15! Jennifer knows this business and is very effective in forming a bridge for new talent to connect with the entertainment businesses who are looking for us! As in any situation, please go to the person you have concerns with, giving them an opportunity to address your concerns. In this case, I know Jennifer welcomes the opportunity to address all issues. Is this how you would you like to be treated? How would you feel if you read negative attacks on the internet about you/your child/or business? Is this how we teach our children to handle conflict? Let's BE the change we want in our society--be constructive and helpful towards each other always. It's a choice!

Yes, I agree with the previous review. I am a model and have had quite a bit of experience over the years working with talent and management agencies. Don't ever sign up with anyone requiring that kind of money up front. There are very reputable agencies out there that work on commission only. That way, they are working for YOU. These so-called management agencies are such a waste of time and money. Go straight to the agents themselves. If you/ve got what it takes, they will take note and you can be working in no time. Maybe not huge jobs, but you'll be working somewhere in the industry. I have also heard not so good things about Avanti. Just another opinion-

I couldn't believe someone else had actually written a recent review of Avanti. I concur completely. Unfortunately, I was one of the parents who DID invest money in this phoney Showcase event. And correct- the lady who owns and manages the showcase event is not a very nice person. I've never heard her speak in a civil manner to anyone. Not even to her parents who work at Avanti with her! I agree- don't do it!

Avanti Talent is a scam. Avanti puts on a show twice per year exhibiting their models and talent. They invite talent agents to come view the show to see who might be "the next one." Here's how it works. You pay Avanti Talent $850 up front. They then provide five 3 hr. rehearsals over the next three months leading up to showcase where all the talent is exhibited in front of talent scouts/ agents . Hopefully, an agent will be interested in you and offer to sign you on as a client and get you work. They claim that only a very few Avanti students don't get any callbacks. Not true. I know a mom who has a very marketable child, who didn't receive any callbacks. I stayed away from Avanti and elected not to have my child sign up. I'm so glad! Plus, the woman who owns Avanti is terribly rude and unpleasant. She acts as though she is doing you a favor by taking your $850 and allowing you to be in the show. I ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction after the first initial meeting. Also , the place is located in a low rent section of town. It's a dump! Stay away!
