I took 2 huge bags of clothing into Platos Closet, pretty much all American Eagle, Gap, Hollister, Banana Republic and such. Some of the items still had tags. They said it would take them 2 hours to look through the things and they would call me when finished. About 2 hours later, they said that I could come back and get my quote. They did not even take one item. Dont waste your time dropping of your clothes. You are better off going to goodwill.

I went in to Plato's Closet after seeing an ad about selling old clothes. I brought in a whole bag full of clothes that didn't fit me anymore or chirstmas present I didn't like and never returned. This included American Eagle jeans, The Limited jeans and other expensive items, some were never even worn! They took only two of the most unlikely articles of clothing. I was really surprised and I only got $3.45. That was not enough to pay for the gas to get there!

I took 2 bags of name brand clothes & some stylish but off brand hang-up items. The sales girl helped me put the hang-up (some from places like Wal-Mart's junior section-in a bag. I was asked to leave them overnight. The next day, the same person greeted me. They took NONE! She said, "They were all from places like Wal-Mart, right?" Only the ones she had helped me with were. She told me I could leave them there if I didn't want to "bother with them" as charities come in weekly to pick-up items. I told her "No, I'll take them to a consignment shop." I got the feeling that if I left them they would've tried to sell them anyway! After leaving, I noticed the other 2 bags were EXACTLY as I had left them- same folds & all! Oh well, their loss, my financial gain!

Pros: inexpensive, good selection

Cons: Buying consumer items, not profitable

a great value store, name brands and they give you cash for your stuff! They dont carry vintage and older stuff just newer styles which kinda would be nice but a great place to get some money and change your stuff so your not wairing the same stuff.

Pros: value, name brands, cash for stuff

Cons: no vintage, no older stuff, crossroads traffic
