Triangle Town Center

I just moved to Raleigh. Triangle Town Center Mall is the closest mall to where I live, but I doubt I'll be visiting it very often. For starters, this mall is definitely not "upscale." There isn't a Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, or any of the basic stores you'd find in an upscale mall. Yes, there is a Saks and a Macy's, but both are very disappointing. The clothing in Macy's was way below expectations -- I can usually count on the Inc. line to be trendy for a 30-40 something professional woman, but this particular store didn't have anything! The mall is sprawling, but it's a whole lot of nothing special. I haven't lived here long enough to check out the other malls, but I am 99.9% certain that any of them beat this one.

Pros: Convenient to those who live nearby

Cons: Not enough upscale or unique stores

Maybe Triangle Town Center should have waited until it was completely finished to open it's doors. Instead, they opened earlier, with alot of things missing. Now it's 2006 and what was lost has now been found! Saks is opened and so has The Gap! It is a gorgeous mall with plenty of places to shop and eat. The outdoors shopping area they call "The Commons" is refreshing! My kids have a ball looking in the man made creek the have running in between the stores and restaurant. Our favorite place to eat is The Twisted Fork. Very family friendly with enjoy and handmade truffle and espresso afterwards. Plenty of parking even during the holidays! Store prices are competitive to those at Crabtree and Southpoint.

Pros: atmosphere, parking, great restaurants

Cons: no Sharper Image

dude. ok this mall SUCKS i mean how much more boring could you get. Obviously the prices are way above a freaking teen's head and you know paretns dont want to give there children a lot of money. The stores SUCK! Their is no varity for normal people. Some people can't all fit into american eagle abercrombie and hollister things. At least south point has a freaking hot topic. At least they have a variety of choses when is comes to stores! not everyone is a prep! UGH. my pants always get stuck to the chairs outside and how much did that carpeting cost you? more than it was to build the damn thing. wow, i might live five minutes away from it and shop there but i hate it. and this is comeing from a teenager.

Pros: starbucks, spencers

Cons: variety, prices, no hot topic!!! ugh

An updated review: The food court has improved in many ways. The mall now has a McDonald's and Subway, so the variety has improved (including what is available on Sunday). The seating can be a challenge but it's never impossible to find a seat. You can eat outside, as well. But in cold weather, that is not a viable option. Parking is better than an any other regional mall. A local television station did an investigative report that talked about Raleigh's city laws that dictate parking space. TTC is the only place reviewed that passed the test. I *hate* the parking spaces at Crabtree. Many, many new stores have opened at TTC. Construction of Saks has begun. The state's largest Dick's Sporting Goods is coming soon. New choices are opening up this month in the Triangle Town Commons. A cinema is also on the drawing board and coming soon.

Pros: Beautiful, Lots of Space, Good Parking

Cons: Not complete, Expensive

Everytime I've been to this mall (and the new one in Durham), there is NO place to sit and eat inside... Ever woder why the Crabtree mall has such a huge foot court? People need a place to sit and eat... duh!

Pros: Parking, Hours, Traffic

Cons: Foot court

TTC is a great place to walk around and go to stores that arent in the other malls, such as Hollistor and Saks when it opens. But dont shop at your favorite stores there, they are way behind on the sales. If you see something you like at American Eagle, Abercrombie or Aeropostale go to the Cary mall or Crabtree, it will definitly be cheaper there!! And the food court wont last long, if you go on Sunday you have a choice of Chinese, Japanese and Ice-Cream since Chick Fil A is closed.

Whose bright idea was it to install vinyl benches? They won't age well. I can see toddlers (and all ages) absentmindedly (or in the tot's case, wholeheartedly) picking & pulling the stuffing while resting tired feet. Speaking of feet, I hope the carpet didn't cost much, it will be worn before they know it. Who wants to shop, (or drive) with a child that is soaked from jumping in sidewalk geysers? It's a nice idea... for a fun park. Overall, I like the mall, even the food court (a rarity with me). The stores are good, it's nice to finally have a dEliA's, and when Saks and Benetton open that will be a dream come true. The absence of GAP however, will bring me crashing back to reality. The parking is fine. I've always found places easily, and had no trouble keeping my monster 7-seat SUV within the lines.

Pros: Spacious

I have to say my expectations and priorities are different in comparison to other mall reviews. I am THRILLED that a mall is now located on the Northeastern side of the triangle and only takes me 15 min. to access vs. driving to Crabtree (nightmare);Cary Town Center(35 min.); SouthPoint(1 hr.). Yes, all the amenities (e.g. restaurants, cinema, etc.) are not complete; but those are just trees in the overall forest, and will develop with time. However, the other reviewers pointed out, it is like any other mall. Although, I may not benefit from the same things other malls are offering, I am not dealing with the hassle or commute to get to them. I love the new mall, with all its construction, unopened stores, lack of restaurants, etc. But again, my expectation was met - by location and convenience, so I am willing to wait for the rest.

Pros: location, children's play area, Lots of sitting areas

Cons: not many restaurants

There's nothing different about any mall when you get down to it. Some are better-decorated than others, but really we just go to shop. and the stores aren't any better at the Town Centre than they are at Crabtree, SouthPoint, or any other large mall in the area. And until Raleigh as a whole starts being less stuffy and more hip, the shops are going to suffer too (for instance, I went to Benetton in Charlotte's South Park Mall which had some AWESOME clothes in it, and when I went two weeks later to the Benetton in SouthPoint mall in Durham the clothes were different: boring and sadly very indicative of the Triangle's golf-shirt-and-khaki's-culture. *sigh*

Pros: lots of shops, decent food court, interesting decor

Cons: Valet Parking!?!, same old same old...
