I first began going to Tanas PT 7 years ago after injuring myself backpacking. She examined me thoroughly and set me up with a schedule of visits, each of which included electric stim, trigger point therapy and ultrasound. She also examined my gait and footware - essential components for a backpacker. Ultimately I began wearing custom footbeds that she assisted me with, which made an enormous difference. As I continued to age I began suffering debilitating back spasms with increased frequency. They eventually became so bad I had to give up my one great passion in life - cycling. I turned again to Tanas, with somewhat low expectations because this condition seemed chronic. I'll never forget when Nabila, sensing my frustration, told me to take off my shirt and look at myself sideways in a mirror. She grabbed another physical therapist and let us compare our backs. Mine was grossly misshapen; it was apparent I had severe kyphosis (hunchback). Nabila explained that this was the root cause of all my problems. Her next words will always remain with me: "It is usually very difficult for someone your age to correct this back to normal but I will help you." I visited Nabila on and off over the next few years for other issues. Each time she assisted me with my back problems in addition to whatever else I was visiting her for. A turning point came when she had me spend a full hour with an exercise physiologist, who introduced me to the swiss ball. I finally began obeying and listening to everything she told me to do. I started arising early to work on my back with the swiss ball. I would supplement it with her therapy. Over time people began remarking how much taller I looked. My parents, who don't see me very often, said, "Mark your back is just incredible!" I continued to work hard and go to Tanas PT. Today I am back on my bike and riding as strong as ever. Nabila has literally given me back my life. She has tremendous knowledge & experience.

Pros: Deep experience, knowledge, educational, committment, passion and compassion

Cons: None

I went in initially for low back pain, and my first visit was good, the girl was really knowledgeable and friendly and I was feeling positive. But I never got the same person again, and eventually ended up with just a massage therapist treating me. And I got billed for physical therapy just the same. Plus, it didn't seem like anyone had any of the initial information on me. I was really disappointed and found another clinic.

After several disappointing sessions at three different physical therapy facilities, one of my doctors recommended that I try the PT program at Tanas Physical Therapy. Nabila Tanas, Licensed Physical Therapist and owner, was very professional in the assessment of my physical problems and subsequent treatments. At Tanas Physical Therapy, there exists a warm and caring concern for me as a person combined with professional treatment and positive results which I was unable to find anywhere else. This is a rare combination in today's "bottom line" world. -Doris, a happy patient

I have to take issue with druk's review. There is no "girl" who evaluated her, Nabila does all evaluations personally. Her form of physical therapy is not common in the US which is what makes her so valuable. She deals mostly with Travelle trigger point and various other massage techniques along with posture re-education and corrective exercise in a gym. All of her therapists, massage or physical therapy, are fully supervised by Nabila herself and trained by her. Her knowledge base and experience is second to none. I have been with Nabila for almost 4 years. Nowhere have I received the amount of relief I do each time I see her and I've been going for maintenance work for over 30 years. I have fibromyalgia, spinal and nerve problems, TMJ, migraines and tension headaches, myofascial pain, hypermobility, and joint problems. If you want gyms with fancy machines and little 1:1 patient-driven contact with a therapist, she's not the one for you. There are literally dozens of these PTs out there. There's only one Tanas PT. Great atmosphere, great staff, great results. 15-20 min massage, same for ultrasound and for electric stim. Then exercise. Traction available too. No way did druk find someone better - I've been to most of them around the triangle already. If you need rehab, she'll tell you up front. Otherwise there is nothing she cannot treat. She can work miracles, truly.

Pros: Thorough, Knowledgable, Pleasant

Cons: No aqua therapy
