Editorial Review for Taverna Nikos – by Kira Krauss
In Short
Loud and lively, Taverna Nikos serves casual Greek favorites in an authentic setting. Appetizers (or mezedes) are top-notch--the melitzanosalata (eggplant salad) is excellent. Other menu stars are the stifado (rabbit stew cooked slowly in port wine) and the braised lamb shank. On the lighter side, the village salad is fresh and flavorful. Adventuresome diners may want to sample the Retsina, a Greek wine flavored with pine resin.

Taverna Nikos has always been a favorite. After closing for a period of time and reopening, they are back with some great changes. The new menu offers many of our old favorites, moussaka, the best calamari I've ever had, lamb, and many new things. The lemon chicken, new vegetarian options, and great seafood. The owners and the servers are friendly and helpful. From an intimate dinner for two to a big party, Nikos is your best bet!!
