Editorial Review for The Brewery – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
It's the place to see bands before they're big. And then again when they get kinda big. There's a stronger vein of Metal running through the Brewery than in some of the other local clubs, making this Raleigh haunt a good bet for folks longing for that painfully slow-to-die genre. Don't be intimidated by its proximity to NC State University. The crowd is largely mixed and rarely dominated by undergrads.

The Brewery is the place to be to see bands before they get famous. In the past few years I have seen Panic at the Disco, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Cartel, Halifax, Boys Like Girls and more! I don't like real big places to see live music. The Brewery is the perfect size. And to be a smaller place they have a real good beer selection. And the staff is really nice. My boyfriend and I go a couple of times a month.
Pros: Killer acts, beer selection, nice staff, parking near the building
Cons: Too small to get the larger acts, only open for live music

The Brewery is a landmark for live music. The staff is friendly, the bartenders are hot and the bands are great. Having been a patron for over 10 years, I can honestly say that The Brewery is always on the cutting edge of the music scene, but still manages to mix the shows up with bands that are currently popular. Acosutic rock one night, hip hop the next night, hard rock the next night - you get it all at The Brewery. The Brewery lost a lot of its steam in the early part of the 00's, but new management or owners seem to have restored it to its past glory. The Brewery is once again the top spot in Raleigh for live music. They have also added liquor to the bar, improving the experience even more. Enjoy!
Pros: Brand new PA, Friendly Staff, Great Booking
