Editorial Review for The Cantina – by Elisabeth Bergman
In Short
Imagine a fraternity house complete with the sagging sofas and lingering odor of beer. Install a bare-bones bar, make sure the wood floors are nicely scarred and that the air-conditioning is broken. Forget about decoration. Who needs art when you've got beer? Go for the cheap bottomless cup--plastic, of course--or an inexpensive monster draft. For a change of pace get jiggy with some Jell-O shooters or an ultra-affordable Cape Cod.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoThis crowd, namely NC State and Meredith students, doesn't come here for the cuisine. They don't come here for the conversation or to sip Chardonnay or to impress a first date. And when Mom and Dad come for a weekend visit, the Cantina is likely not part of the Hillsborough Street tour.

The doormen are rude, condescending & have no problem discriminating against people for no reason.
Cons: rude
