Families line up for homemade ice cream made with a touch of egg. A rotating menu offers three "primary" custards: vanilla, chocolate and a daily special, such as peppermint. Devotees pay homage to this shop for its concretes, a mixture of one of the primary custards with a choice of many toppings, from M&Ms to strawberries to Heath Bar pieces. My wife and I tried if for the first time today. We found the products adequate, if a bit pricey. In fact, I asked the price of the two items. When I got home and figured out the sales tax, I realized that I had been charged $8.40 instead of $8.04. Bit of dyslexia, I guess. I doubt we'll go back.

Only Pinkberry could beat Goodberry's, and since we don't have them here in the triangle that makes Goodberry's my first choice for frozen custard. You could get a concrete every day for a year and not get the same thing twice with their huge list of ingredients; fresh fruit, candy, malt, cookies, they have it. There is one specialty flavor of custard scheduled every day and a calendar that you can keep up with for your favorites.
Pros: Fresh, creamy custard. Variety of toppings.
Cons: Occasional crowds
