Editorial Review for Knight's Play Golf Center – by Tom Normanly

In Short
Open 'til midnight, this golf center also offers lessons. You can hit off the grass or mats on the huge driving range. And the practice green is great for chipping or putting. You can drive for show, but you probably won't have to. Knight's Play is geared more toward the shorter clubs. Unless you're Tiger Woods, you shouldn't have to go any higher than a 3-iron. There's water on a lot of the holes, but you only have to carry it on three of them. Hole #7 is an island green. While you won't win a million dollars at the end of the round, you should feel good if you can stay on the island.

There probably isn't a need to review Knight's Play because so many people around here already know about it and frequent it often. If you are considering going for the first time don't hesitate! For the money it is a great par 3 course. Here are my tips: don't go during peak hours, carry your bag or use a push cart, take unneeded clubs out of the bag to lighten the load, and if you are fairly new to golf bring a lot of golfballs because you're probably going to lose some in the water. This place can get very crowded on the weekends during the late morning- afternoon hours. They accept tee times but they don't really mean anything here, people can just walk in without one and they tend to stack people up on either the front 9 or the back 9. So if you don't like that feeling of having people behind you go early morning or try late at night. If you can possibly get there before 5:00 on weekdays they offer even cheaper rates and you might just have the course to yourself. The holes are very close together here, so there really isn't a need to rent a golf cart, especially if you are going to play just 9. I see so many people doing it and it really is a waste when it is a very short walk to the next tee. Get rid of drivers and high numbered irons, most holes here are well under 200 yds. I'm a female and I use the black tees, and the highest numbered iron I've ever used here is a 7. One last warning, since it is a par 3 I see a lot of people bring their kids here to play. Not that I have anything against kids playing golf but the really young kids tend to be very slow and loud. Again if you don't go during the peak hours you could probably cut down on that.

Pros: open from 8-midnight, great prices, well tended greens, huge driving range

Cons: can get very crowded, they don't space people out well
