I absolutely love Salon Kroma. Jill H is my stylist and I would never allow anyone else to do my hair. She gets the color perfect every time and she is the only person who has ever known the right way to cut my complicated hair. I love getting my hair done after a long, stressful day at work because the atmotsphere is very relaxed and it's just a great place to hang out. Not only that, but I always feel like a million bucks when I leave! If you are looking for the best color/cut in Raleigh, definitely check out Jill at Salon Kroma!

It has taken me a lot of months to decide whether or not to write a review - normally I am not a reviewer and whether I receive good or bad service, I don't comment. However, after reading Salon Kroma's reviews and, more importantly, Salon Kroma's attempt to shoot down every negative review, I felt compelled to write. First of all, I think it's important to understand that EVERY business, even the best in the world, will have off days. Don't you find it a bit odd that Salon Kroma gets so defensive whenever they get a bad review, and further, feel the need to blame it on some unnamed "competing salon"? Let's get real - you are not perfect. If you were, it would be impossible to get an appointment with you because you would be constantly booked. So here's my experience - I read the reviews and decided to try your salon out. I showed up for my appointment on time and waited over 20 minutes before I was told that the stylist I had an appointment with was late and unreachable by phone. The ladies at the front were very nice and apologetic, but nevertheless I had no stylist. I was offered a different stylist, and I accepted. The haircut I received was fine - not great. I did make a second appointment, though, because the stylist (and another stylist who helped me make my next appointment) suggested that I get some color. What a mistake! I am still paying for that poor decision. I went in requesting some red highlights in my brown hair. I was told red would fade too quickly (I do understand that this is true) and instead he would put some natural looking blonde highlights. I am being too kind when I say that my hair looked brown with white stripes. And to top it all off, the highlights started about 1/2 inch from my scalp. I had instant roots! I should have complained then, but as mentioned before, I'm not normally a complainer so I never gave them the opportunity to fix it. But just to let you know - they are not perfect as they would have you believe.
Pros: Free coffee, decent haircuts
Cons: Be careful who you get to do your color
