Editorial Review for Village Draft House – by Brad Hunter
In Short
Imagine a cross between a sports bar and a diner with decent music and you'll have some idea of this Cameron Village hangout. With such a compelling neighborhood vibe, a huge selection of beers on tap and an eclectic kitchen, there's no need to wait on the big game to pay the place a visit. The Village Draft House is known for its burgers, but there's a lot of good suprises on the menu.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyThe beers here aren't all that cheap, but there's usually a decent special on a large 22-ounce glass of beer.
Where To SitSettle into a comfortable booth and check out the large televisions above the full bar.

I've had some great times at the Village Draft House but my last two experiences were terrible. The waitstaff paid no attention to some reasonable but specific requests and did not seem to mind delivering food that was very much below expectation. My main compaint is their arrogance and failure to treat a customer who was trying to be polite with respect. I do not expect fine dining but do expect the waitstaff to pay attention to simple requests. They seemed to be terribly bothered by the notion that a patron might not be satisified with an order. Until I hear that the quality of service has improved I'll find another place to enjoy some time out to relax. Fortunately, this place has competition.

I absolutely love the village draft house! I have been a "regular" for a while now. I like what they did when they expanded. They have 80-100 drafts now and the non-smoking section is great when I bring my family. I hate when I see the bad reviews, although I may be biased becuase I used to work at a bar/restaurant. The village draft house is not a fast food joint or a coat and tie restaurant. That really should be taken into consideration when you visit their establishment. I think that they do their best to suit everyones needs, but if you only have a half hour lunch break, this isn't the place unless you get take-out. The bartenders/waitresses are super friendly, and know my family and I by name, and even what we like to eat. We dine or drink here 3-4 times a week!
Pros: burgers, beer, service
