Editorial Review for Aura Lounge – by Brad Hunter

In Short
Descend the stairs at this Glenwood Avenue club and suddenly you're transported to the land of discotheques. Silver walls, shapely furniture, multiple bars and young, happy people make clubgoers feel at home. As with the world's indistinguishable airports, you could be in Ibiza or Prague--but you haven't left the friendly confines of Raleigh. You're in Aura.fs20 Lots of potentially single women, a larger number of single guys and a capable DJ create the vibe.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

Given Aura's small size, limiting smoking to an outdoor courtyard is a great idea.

The Extras

Neat touches--like the aquarium between the restrooms highlight the club's interesting design.

If you like to dance to the latest hip hop then you'll like this place. After 1am it can become extremely crowed. If you fear small spaces it may be difficult to enjoy yourself.

Ok. I've read the reviews and I have to tell you all your wrong. It's nice to go to a place that you need a dress code for. I hate clubs in this area where you can wear what you think is cool. Let me tell you that Baggy FRIGGIN jeans and A polo that a 400 pound fat guy should wear and sneakers is not the in thing. You should dress up nice. I also am quite confused about the aferican american comment. I see lots of diverse people in this atmosphere. I really don't care what color you are as long as you are dressed nice. I will admit that a few months ago thing in this club were not great. Bartenders were slow and drinks were not made properly. I think that over the past few weeks things have changed. All this club really needs is some people to go there before 11:30 pm. I have to say it's the hottest spot after 11 pm. everybody and their momma is in there dancing. Hot chicks, cool guys. What more do you want. Besides wih all the cops out there on Glenwood it's the easiest place to chill. One more thing. Keep your FRIGGIN comments to yourself if you are one of those people that think dressing like a thug-banger is PHAT. Get over it. You ain't a thug and this ain't C>R>I>P country. Just my humble opinion!

Pros: You can be seen from everywhere. Easy to get too

Cons: not enough people before 11 pm
