Editorial Review for Sushi-Thai – by Alex Leviton
In Short
With its inlaid wood tables and groovy boat-shaped sushi bar, Sushi-Thai combines cozy dining with a hip atmosphere. The large space holds several dozen diners, but the noise level is surprisingly low considering the energy level. Service is friendly, but don't expect a quick turnaround. This is the ideal place to go if you're looking for a diverse menu and low prices. On the Thai side, spicy basil dinner comes with plenty of fresh green and red peppers, aromatic Thai basil and a chili paste kick, while spicy noodles confuse tastebuds, bringing together disparate 'spicy' and 'noodle' and 'creamy' in a basil sauce. You can't beat their $1 per piece nigiri rolls on price, but they're small and of average quality. For a textural dining experience, try the baby octopus. It's like the carnivorous version of baby corn: an entire octopodidae--head to tentacles--is served atop a nigiri roll.

My boyfriend and I had our first dinner here together four years ago. The service is great, the sushi fresh, and best of all, sashimi pieces are $1 and small rolls are $2 (dinner prices.) The lunch prices are more expensive. If you go, sit at the bar! It's quite comfortable.

Sushi Thai used to be my favorite neighborhood place to eat. The food has gone downhill badly, as well as the customer service. The 89 rating is scary especially in a sushi restaurant! Our situation we ordered $70. in take outs, based on it was a great place to eat about a year ago. I even tipped the young lady on a take out which I never do normally. I have to admit, she was cute! Problem: When we got home with our food, we were missing a child's dinner. When I went back there after dinner to point it out and get a refund, I was called a liar basically. She was smiling nicely and nodding yes the whole time, mean while while she was looking at me like I had a better chance of selling water at Niagara Falls. She said they remembered "putting it in the bag". Go figure, this was a hour and a half later when I went back. Our biggest surprise was when we realized what had happened and when we had to split up our dinners so we could all eat. I asked her if it was worth losing a customer over a $8.00 child's dinner, and she "there was nothing she could do". You've got to be kidding me!! How about a refund?? Who's the manager anyway? It seems the owners would wake up and fire this guy if they want to stay open! Long story short, the food taste like it came frozen from Sam's club. It has gone downhill in the past year badly. The tempura shrimp use to melt in your mouth. It now tastes like it's been in a freezer for a year (unwrapped) and then reheated in a microwave. The management made a poor decision on this situation, enough for me to come home and write this review. We'll never go back folks. PS: What ever happen to customer comes first? Sorry...that was in America I guess. I advise to stay away!
Pros: Good Location
Cons: Bad customer service and quality of food has gone downhill
