Editorial Review for Fairview – by Alex Leviton
In Short
A gracious doorman and life-size portraits of prominent Duke family members let you know you're somewhere special. Dishes don't succumb to the nouveau tradition of ingredient overkill. Minimal gourmet cuisine comes in the form of succulent prosciutto-wrapped Alaskan halibut, dressed on goat cheese stone-ground grits in a lobster-stock fricasse. For a delicate Asian flavor, try the seared tuna Napoleon, a sushi-grade ahi with tobiko, wakame seaweed and julienned cucumbers in sweet ginger and soy syrups.

Insider Tips
Where to SitIf it's just two for a twilight meal, ask for a window table.
Look GoodJackets are requested. Men in nice slacks and oxfords won't be turned away, but diners in jeans or T-shirts will be directed to one of the inn's more casual restaurants.
When to GoThe restaurant has an additional Sunday brunch from 10:30am to 2pm.
What to DrinkTake advantage of Drew Lazarus, the restaurant's encyclopedic sommelier, who will describe the wine list, which includes more than 20 wines by the glass, in detail.

I think this is the best restaurant by far in the Triangle. We had their dinner tasting menu and had an excelent experience. The food and service is fantastic and their wine menu is extensive. I would highly recommend it for a special ocassion. We celebrated our daughter's baptism there and they were very accomodating and we would do it again in a heartbeat...
Pros: excelent food, romantic, very good wine list.
Cons: none

If you were to describe what the perfect brunch should be. this is it! An incredible full breakfast with great omelot chefs, and an array of delicious luncheon dishes, vegetables and salads. Now in a very elegant new restaurant setting. Perfect for special occasions. You can't do better than this for 1000 miles. Better not wear jeans.
Pros: Service, Quality, Ambiance
Cons: Pricey
