With 6,000 different plant varieties from 55 countries, the arboretum really does feel like a living classroom, yet it retains all the beauty of a botanical oasis. Get to know the garden by taking the "Stress Reduction/Meditation Walk" (brochures are available in the visitors center at the entrance). It leads you from the White Garden to the Farthest Reaches. In the Water Garden take a seat in the shade of an early hawthorn (Crataegus aestivalis) or if you're visiting in summer, drink in the scent of gardenia in the Paradise Garden.
