Frazier's is considered by critics to be one of the Triangle's top dining destinations. The menu offers a wide variety of entrees prepared by Chef Jay Beaver, formally of Gramercy Tavern in NY. Jay and his team cook to impress and the waitstaff strives to make everyone feel comfortable. This restaurant has a casual, neighborhood feel with an sleek interior. Our extensive wine list can be sampled any night at dinner or at weekly wine tastings and select wine dinners. Opting for the tasting menu encourages one to sit back, relax, and dine without having to make even the smallest of decisions. The "menu" is prepared off the cuff by the chef, the wine is paired with the kitchen's food and the service staff tends to your needs. The ingredients used in the tasting are often unique/adventurous and the wines poured are often special selections.

Editorial Review for Frazier's Restaurant – by Kelly Ferguson

In Short
Frazier's provides adult refuge in the midst of a college strip. Dark wood wainscotting and muted lighting warm the interior, while local artwork adds some pizzaz. The intimate space fills quickly, but customers don't seem to mind waiting at the bar for a table. Expect a select menu that contains interesting, seasonal ingredients. The bone-in rib-eye is positively primal, but undeniably savory with a blueberry veal reduction.

I've never written a review for Citysearch before, but once again I had a great dinner at Frazier's last week and am writing to encourage anyone passionate about food to give this place a try - especially if you've read recent negative reviews. The service at Frazier's is stellar. The entire staff simply seems to want you to have a great time enjoying their food. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They take pride in the menu and will advise if you're unsure, suggest wines if you ask ... and if you absolutely know what you want, they will back off, yet always remain attentive. Uniquely, the staff at Frazier's seem to have no 'ownership' over tables, and you might have the bartender or another server stopping by at some point - always just when you want them to: clearing plates, replenishing drinks, discussing food or drink, and generally making sure your needs are met. The food is out of this world. The menu is always changing, and always short: handful of appetizers including a few soups and salads, two or three pasta dishes, and a variety of fish, meat, and fowl entrees. I'd like to expound on my dinner last week (pate', salad, roasted duck entree, shared cheese plate and lemon pie and chocolate-mint martini to finish) but I'd salivate just thinking about it. The accompaniments to the appetizer and cheese were varied, well-planned and nicely presented. I recommend the cheese, either as appetizer or dessert. What I really love about Frazier's is the combination of excellent food and excellent drink, served with care and expertise but absolutely without inflation or pretense. This is an elegant yet very comfortable place where I'd gladly bring my parents, business partners, a first date, or good friends for an excellent dinner. If you love good food, please don't hesitate - just go!

Pros: Service, cuisine, dining experience, decor/atmosphere

Cons: none

I went to eat at Frazier's with high expectations, but left severely disappointed. The food wasn't anything to remember- it was okay, but not good enough to justify going there. I don't intend to return (it's not worth spending that much!). Don't waste your time here.

Pros: comfortable

Cons: food is not worth the money
