Editorial Review for Walnut Creek Amphitheatre – by Zach Hanner
In Short
Formerly dubbed Alltel Pavilion, this venue has a state-of-the-art bandshell and CD-quality sound and video system and can seat 20,000 in both lawn and seated areas. Bring a blanket to sit on in the grass, or you can rent a chair for a nominal fee. Most major touring acts that come through the Southeast stop by for a gig. The programmers also schedule festivals that feature lesser-known artists on an all-day bill.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyEvery year, the venue offers a dozen or more shows where kids 12 and under are admitted free on the Festival Lawn with a paid adult.
Know Before You GoYou might need to make use of the strategically placed ATMs due to the steep prices for food and beer.

Love the music but hate how they charge a parking fee onto your ticket even if you ride with someone else. We usually have a van full of 6-7 ppl. That's $35 spent on parking. UNFAIR! Beer is outrageously high. $10. Need a loan to hang out here:(
Pros: music
Cons: unfair parking fee, high beer prices

I went to see the Allman Brothers with Skynyrd last Friday...and it was SUCH as great show! The crowd was a little rowdie, but I guess thats to be expected with Skynyrd on the main stage. Overall, it was a great experience. I encountered friendly staff, great music, and great sound. I will definitely come back to a shows next season at Alltel Pavilion.
Pros: awesome live music, good sight, great sound!
Cons: , rowdy fans, pricey
